    Hey guys,

I have the black smoke LED projector headlights from Spyder. They have the bright amber turn signal bulbs and I was wondering if there were any bulbs the same size that were purely bright white LED. The orange to me kinda throws off the color scheme of the look of the truck. Any links would be greatly appreciated if this is available.

I will also post a picture of the headlights to show what I mean.

    Thanks!

I have gotten a lot of my bulbs from @csjumper2003. He might have one that will work for you and even be LED in style. Good luck, and nice looking rig

You can get Sylvania 3157 SilverStar Mini Bulbs (or any white 3157 bulb) to replace your Amber 3157 bulbs if youre looking to convert to white without a resistor. I did this at one point with a yellow bulb. As for an LED Option you need to run a resistor to go full LED signals. The 3157’s fit? I thought the bulb size for the amber turn signal bulb was 4157? Its also fine as well it doesn’t have to be LED, rather just not orange and a base white/silver color. Do you have any pictures?

These are awesome bulbs! Very bright (probably as bright or brighter than many leds i've used), nice deep amber and last forever! I've had one pair that I have swapped between vehicles since 2009, thats 10years on one pair! All the vehicles had DRLs too. I have them in the front and rear of my tacoma and the front on my wifes fusion (the 10yr old bulbs)

They look good, glad to see multiple people suggesting the same one. Just to clarify, they turn the amber signal to white now correct? Not just a brighter orange? Any pictures aswell!

    Appreciate the help aswell!

Not white, almost like a chrome/rainbow look to it when they are off. Makes it almost invisible. Plus with the 3157 you don't need any resistor or anything. Plug and play.

Another tip is to search for that bulb on ebay or something. They can be had cheaper, but probably won't find it much less than $30.

I got ya. Any pics when they are on, preferably of the headlights? My lens are shaded so you dont really see the orange, my question is when the bulb is on, do they remain orange?

Here’s ability the best I have for now, these are also the ones that are 10yrs old. The lower running light is Diode Dynamics HP3 for reference.

Those will not work well in your housing due the reflector design. I had some in red and had a couple chips die on me in about 1 year of use.

Just wanting to clarify what I’m trying to accomplish here, in the picture below is what I’m hoping to do. He has that white LED light where his turn signal would be, I’m trying to get away from the amber color.

AHHHH got it! Switchback is term you're looking for.

Diode Dynamics, VLEDs and Morimoto are some of the best ones for that.

Doing some research and came across this. I guess the issue I run into now is the fact that my amber lights act as a DRL.

There is a way to do it, other members have done it. I haven't messed with it on our trucks yet.

This is about the best write up I have seen. Though I don't know if this is only for the early 2nd gens or not.

Yea the ones I got from @csjumper2003 do use a resistor but its not that hard to set up. Makes it so the lights are white as DRL and only turn amber when using as turn signal.
