Installed ilft now vsc is going off!!!

I am a new member but have been reading alot on your site and it is really great. I have a 2010 taco with 4000 miles and decided to install a 3in toytec ultimate lift on it last week. I took it up to the hills to stretch it out today and while going around winding corners on the road my vsc was going off. I was wondering if there was some one in Fort Collins CO that could help me with this problem?

I dont have a calibrator and others say if this is done it doesn't solve the problem?

 

There is a section in the PDF document that tells you how to use a wire to zero the VSC. You don't have to use the calibrator.

I would give it a try and if it helps, bonus... if not, then worry about it if necessary .

Wow that was easy! I wont have time to take it out today but I will take it out tomorrow. One question I am not sure if my parking lot is completely level. Does it have to be and how do you know unless you have a digital level?

Let the dealer figure it out. Why would you want to risk failure when your life is controlled by VSC

 

I am just not a big fan of dealerships so I was hoping others that have had this problem (which should be more than I can see on here) would help another taco owner out.
Isn't that the point of this forum?

 

Keep us posted on the results, hopefully it will prove successful. As for the level ground: don't know, can't really help you out there.

 

I had my skid control ecu re-calibrated at the dealership for free .

Let us know how it works out if you do it yourself .

 

I still have the problem after I had it recalibrate not sure what to do next it really sucks and the dealer now is telling me that the lift should be taken off since it is so sensitive that it is dangerous.

 

"Stretch it out" on the windy roads eh?

If that's the only time it goes off, your best course of action may be simply to use the dash switch to manually turn off VSC when you're planning on a more aggressive driving session.

 

I was taking my truck to the rock quary to stretch it out ,where the vsc never went off but on the way there and back on the winding roads up the canyon is where I had the problem

I took it back to the alignment shop and put it on the alignment lift so it was level and I took the jumper wire I made and reset it and it seems to have worked for me. I have not took my truck around any sharp corners yet but should this weekend. I wonder if going really fast around corners with a lift the vsc goes off because of all that top heavy truck rolling. I have to admit driving with a 3in lift and stock tires is pretty intense on winding roads.

 

The vsc is still going off so I went to a 4x4 shop and they told me they have a shop align it and reset with the computer and everyone is fine. I took it in today and they told me that my steering wheel clock was off 166 degrees there for throwing off the vsc. So the alignment was straight but the wheel clock was way out of wack. Take it to someone who does it alot and knows what they are doing. Dealers dont know crap except on how to change oil and wiper blades!

Still working on vibrations. begining to wonder if it is the add a leaf?

My steering wheel value was out by a bunch when mine was checked as well . My yaw value was also haywire .
