I guess a simple little battery light didn't fit on the Christmas tree display. I only found this because I was looking for the odometer without turning on- usually pushing the small button/knob does it. Did I miss something (that's probably in the manual)?

I’ve noticed the same thing in regards to the reviews. In the past I’ve avoided HF like the plague except for expendable items. The last few years they have really come up in quality. Their stuff may or may not last in the hands of a pro or someone hitting tails every weekend. From what I’ve heard though, their winches and tool boxes are pretty damn good.

Now if they would just step up their game with the band saw, I’d be a happy man!

The two bolts on the side did but not the one of the back unless I wanted to drill through the plate on the Warn. Still two hold it on secure

Man I miss wood shop. Table saw is all I have access to these days.

Regarding their tool boxes. A year ago I bought the Gen 2 US general 44x22. It's an excellent box for the price. I work in auto body, am used to snap-on, mac, matco. The 2nd gen of their boxes are G2G.

They are becoming a super popular choice. The guys in this thread are all over them, even compared to all the big names.

I wouldn't hesitate getting that winch either. Cheaper to buy than to rent, doesn't matter if it breaks! Hammer drill was a state away with a family member. Bought one from HFT when I needed to drill four holes in brick for a mantle and now I have a Hilti and a Chicago powered paint stirrer.

Working on military installation where the speed limit is either 20 or 25 sucks the minimum is so high.

Their dust collector (modified) is an extremely popular choice for woodwork. Never had an issue with mine.

Drilling the holes in the rear burned a couple bits. Then reaching inside the frame for the front bolts bruised my arms a bit. 6 weeks to pick up at their place.

Much easier to install in a heated shop. Mine were a bit tough to get started but the fit is tight and secure. Very good quality I’m impressed so far. Thanks for the tip about the snow building up so far winter has been kind but I’m in Kimberley BC so I expect a ton of snow is on the way. Will report an update after it dumps.

There is a rod across the back that is easy to remove to load the truck bed. This snugs up to the tailgate and creates a very tight fit. It doesn’t hang over the tailgate causing rubbing on the paint. I will try to get a post tomorrow with the gate open.

Was washing the truck in the sun and in trying to get some water spots out, I guess I scratched the vinyl b-pillar stickers. I was using a brand new Costco micro fiber cloth so it shouldn’t have left marks. Couldn’t stand the scratches so I took that shit off. I wasn’t sure if it looked better with them off.

Then, at work today I parked behind my buddy who also has a 3rd gen Tacoma and I think it helped me realize I actually prefer the look without the vinyl.

Thank you! I’ve been so undecided on what to do with the bed. Love the look of an overland rack but accept it’s not useful the rest of the time. Seeing yours and loving the change to the rear, I’m pretty sure I’ve made up my mind.

I already peeled off all my badges and box decals but I just can't muster the courage to peel those off. I keep thinking my truck will be the one that they cheaped out and didn't paint under them!

ha! I know what you mean. I was worried too and was ready to just have the dealer replace one of them but my OCD got the best of me. I couldn’t stand it scratched. I can always have them added back down the line.
