For a future 1-2” lifted OffRoad, what would be best for rim size?

What size tires? If you can get what you want in a 16” that’s an easy pick.

16" gets you a taller sidewall but if you're only running 265s then I doubt you're doing a ton of wheeling so I'd say that's just personal preference.

For looks? 17. For offroading? 16, I suppose less likely to scratch :notsure: If it’s up to a coin toss, then find the tire you want and see if they offer them in which ever size. I read upgraded brake kits may not fit 16s, if that’s in the future it you.

Focus on tire wheel/tire combo weight if you want to keep mpgs and performance up, 17" based tires are typically available in lighter weight C-load options whereas 16" are often heavy E-loads. But availability does vary by tire and it also depends on the weight of your current wheels and what your new wheels would weigh. See the thread below.

Get the smallest rim that will fit over your breaks. It will ride better and work better off-road

They are currently the stock 16s that came with the truck. I don’t do all that much wheeling over rocks, but do foresee some beach adventures next summer. Choices choices

Find the wheels you like then go with the smallest diameter rim available. More than likely it will be a 17". Really there is not that big of a difference at least not enough for everyday use.

I have 16s but voted 17. I want to run the 285/75r17 bringing it in around 34” of rubber. Haven’t found a 16” rim tire size that’s like a 34”. Currently have 255/85r16 KM2s and it works well. My issue with 16s and it might just by the Method NVs is if the tire shop stacks two weights on top of each other there is no room between the caliper and the rim. These are the stick on low profile weights placed on the inside of the rim. When I rotated tires I could see that my rotor had hit the stacked weight. The weight is a soft metal so it did no damage but holy crap there is literally no room with 16s.
