The new law is so specific that it will be hard for law enforcement to write you a ticket unless you specifically tell them you were texting. If you say you are using your gps app they can not write you a ticket. They can not look in you phone unless you give them permission.

I do have the taco garage’s single dash mount though.

I have one that hangs from the CD slot when using Google maps, sits in the seat cover front pocket most of the time on bluetooth.

I'm using a RAM mount in both of my girls. The OGT has a hard mounted base to the top of the dash while Natty has a suction cup base on the windshield, which does fall off occasionally if she sits in the sun.

Be careful. Some cops will enforce differently than others and will operate on the assumption that you are in violation if in their eyes are likely are. If they see the phone in your hand or that you are "navigating" the phone you may get the ticket no matter how polite you are.

Earlier this year, in Saint Lucie, my daughter was ticketed for texting while driving while sitting at a stop light. She is and always has been VERY anti-texting while driving. She was not texting at the time but rather looking at the address on the phone GPS. She did politely point out the the officer, even showing her the phone screen, that she was just checking the address on the GPS and was actually stopped. His response was along the lines of "That is nice Miss, you can explain that to the judge in traffic court on <court date>" This was the 2nd time she had been pulled over in her driving life (she is 28) and the 1st ticket she had been issued. She just paid the ticket because she saw no way to prove her side to the judge and she felt she "should have know better" than to touch her phone while behind the wheel.

    YMMV. Best of luck all!

I'd gladly take a jury trial on something like that.

First and foremost, the officer would have to PROVE the law was violated. Innocent until guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and all of that BS.
Second - No victim = no crime is a primary tenet of liberty. If no one was deprived of life, liberty, or property by fraud or by force, it isn't any of the state's (or anyone else's) business what you do.

I would agree that some officers may try to enforce the law differently than others but there are exceptions built into the law such as using a device for navigation. I would take that to trial all day. The burden of proof is still on the officers. As I said the law is very specific and almost unenforceable.

In saying that it is still dangerous to text and drive and should be avoided.

I had the x style, but switched to this version of the ram mount. I can easily one-hand place it into the cradle and then plug it in. The USB is always on and run through the vent. Makes it super easy and always available.

2nd pic is the x style, which i might actual have in my to sell pile. The other pics are just because. This is the BS thread after all.

I wanna get some kind of mount to put a gun like that in mine so I don’t have to wear while I’m driving but can still get to it quickly.

I made this for my hyundai santa Fe from my college days. Had that suv for 13 years. Was surprised when i realized i could transfer it to my tacoma so easily.

Not hard to custom make one yourself if you have a diy side to yourself. I have some YouTube videos where i show how i made the vacuform table and then the holster.

It had come in super handy.

Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
Ran a couple hundred through this AR today. Gun ran great, no weapon related failures. Gassed perfect, locked back on the empty mag. I left the H2 buffer in from when it was .300blk.

I did have 4 ammo related failure to fires. Solid primer hits and no bang. The ammo is surplus Guatamalin 62 grain that I bought 20 years ago and it was probably 20 years old then. I think I only have half a case of it left. So it will get moved from the SHTF pile to blaster fun ammo.

Dammit, I was going to see if you wanted to go to the range this weekend, but the weather looked shitty, so I was going to see if you and Frank wanted to go the weekend after X-mas.

I have a 100 rnds of Federal American Eagle ammo, plus another 80 or so of my match grade handloads I had loaded for the R700 .223. I'm hoping they will chamber in the .223 Wylde chamber of my rifle, but they have been fire formed to the R700 chamber and only neck sized when I reloaded them, so they may not chamber in the AR chamber. I also have about 5 rnds of Federal Gold Cup with 69gr Sierra Matchkings. I'm interested to see if the 1/8 twist on the AR will stabilize them since the 1/10 on my R700 wouldn't.

Edit: Looks like Leupold is going to fix my old VX3 3.5-10x 50mm scope, but I probably won't see it until after the 1st of the year.

We need to go soon, my middle kid was pissed I went shooting without him. But he's under the age limit for the indoor range I went to.

We're trying to get out for some grouper before the season closes at the end of the month. So weather permitting I'll be fishing the last few days of the month after Christmas.

On a related note. Reload in Tarpon is a good indoor range. Rapid fire friendly. They dont check your ammo so so your hand loads will fly under the radar. I have a bunch of empty Federal Xm 193 boxes if you really wanted to go stealth. Just no steel cased ammo. The only down side if you shoot at the 100 yard line its rifles only. You can shoot upto 7.62 on the 25 yard line and pistols are okay.

It was kind of weird shooting at an indoor range that has great ventilation, lighting and is extremely clean.

Very different from Firing line in New Port Ritchey. Even though I like them too...
