Pizza cutters with spacers?

    I'm considering running 255/85 16's on my truck. Would it be possible/Pointless/dumb to put on spacers to push em out a little. Or should I just get 285's? Any advice would be appreciated.

    I have this size and I am very impressed so far (gripping wise). I only have done 1 mild trail with them and on that trail there was a spot to test on rocks and only in 4lo there was no slippage. I haven't tried mud or real rock crawling but this winter break I am getting sliders and am going to do some rock crawling. And I'll try to find some mud, that is if it will rain in SD.

    try running some of those pin wheels in the sand :laugh:

    my 285's on a 2wd open diff helped get me through some nasty stuff

    You can't really say "Go big!" when offering advice between 255's and 285's. While the 285's are wider and most people would consider them bigger the 255's are actually taller. They're both big in their own way.

    I see your running 35's though. Not exactly sure how. I can't 100% eliminate rubbing from my 33's. The axles aren't strong enough to wheel hard with 35's either. I blew my rear diff with 33's.

    I've been on a few wheeling trips since I've gotten the 35's and haven't had 1 problem yet (well almost none). Jhodge and RelentlessTaco also have them and haven't had problems yet. I rub on the fender at full stuff so I will be getting glass to eliminate that.

    someone with 265/75/16's with a lsd got stuck...i did not. idk what a fair comparison that is just stating a small fact. I love me pizza cutter and have done much better thus far then my dunlop mud terrains

    Get different back-spacing (as Cmack did) on the wheels before going with spacers.

    Pizza cutters allow you to run taller tires (for ground clearance) but they're skinny so you don't need 'as much' lift to make them fit. Nothing wrong with them.

    Thanks man, I will take it easy for sure. 35's are a blessing in a way. I don't ever go over the speed limit, and take it easy on the acceleration. :rolleyes:
