I can say as long as the lights and heat are on, we're fed, we have internet and she gets some spending case, my wife doesn't give a rats ass what I spend money on. Some women don't see money as a life driver and others do.

I had a wife that told me no to car parts before. She is now married to a guy who asks questions like this on the internet.

Ladies and gents, this why divorce rates are 50%+. Options #2 & #3 are one foot in and one foot out... People like the idea of marriage, but aren’t willing to stick out the tough times. The divorce rate tells you all you need to know about the past couple of generations, when the going gets tough, those generations fold up like lawn chairs and head to the nearest “safe place to talk about their feelings”.

There are plenty of happy couples out there who keep their finances separate and have their own lives.

It's not a matter of sticking out the hard times. I've done that, and I'm not even married.

It's a matter of being with someone who respects you enough to want you to be happy.

+1 to this. Thinking you have to have a joint bank account to be a successful marriage is weird. Our budget is a work of art and we have separate accounts. Now using them as an excuse to hide your spending from each other...well I hate to break it to you but communication is your problem there and yeah that marriage is probably trash

I never said there aren’t couples who make it work.. I said the majority who have separate finances don’t make it. If you want to have your own life you should not get married..

See this is why I paid so much for my divorce....now all future spending decisions are only processed through a committee of one.

Get them anyways, they protect from door dings and mine were approved by the dogs. She couldn't argue against that.
