that no.2 coil is buried by the intake manifold. the harness to the coil and an overlaying harness makes it impossible to get at. it appears to me that i have to scatter the top of the engine. Ive watched several YouTube vids but all of those wechs seem to complete the task with ease. Only one vid i watched was definitely a 2005 V6 model but the camera view was worthless yet the tech was able to pop the harness off the coil with a little extra effort. on my truck, there is simply no room from my view point. has anyone run into this issue? do i have to wreck the air and fuel guts off the top of the engine to get the harness off the no. 2 plug (frt. left plug)? any tricks i'm missing. i know its an issue. i bought this used and there's 214k on the clock as of now. i know damn well no one has been on top of that jug.

    thank you in advance

On the passenger side you should remove the airbox which just lifts off after you remove the hose. On the driver side, there's a bracket held on by 2 bolts you remove which should be very easy to do.

i surely appreciate your considerate response. the manifold is loading pressure down on the 2 wire harness looms that run over that coil. i did in fact pull that bracket for ease of access but the harness just has so much pressure loaded on it by the plastic manifold..the no. 4 and 6 holes were easy enough
    thank you sir

I had no problem doing mine. What do you mean by the wire loom has pressure on it. Some pictures would help.

    It's a secret
It will also help if you use a swivel sparkplug socket...if you aren't using one already...

Ditto this. I have changed all 6 spark plugs in our 2005 three times without any problems, other than moving a few things out of the way for access.

Did my '05 a couple of months ago and while it's a PITA, you shouldn't have to pull much apart. As noted, a swivel or wobble socket helps.

After removing the air filter, it's easy. You're not removing the coils without unplugging them as the harness is just long enough.
