What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

It may still be squeaking from the same spot as mine, I could hear it from inside of the truck; which could confuse people into thinking it is that spring. But the boot that connects directly to the transmission does have breather hole which can allow dust in there to get in between the pivot joints. Best of luck my friend

Replace the torsional spring with a linear one and you'll never have to worry about it again. Takes all of 5 minutes...

 

Also when it comes to alternator, AC and PS belts. Do you guys use OEM or just store brand?

 

someday probably!!, when i have more headroom to look at it
but definitely if it ever starts acting like what i have read about the pedal not coming all the way up off the floor and having to use the toe to drag it back up.
so far there is nothing noticeable like that happening

i am not sure if that issue is a function of wear/use or time elapsed

Bando, Gates, and Dayco(I think?) all make belts for the actual automakers, which means they are well versed in manufacturing long lasting oem belts. I'm comfortable with using and recommending any of those three makers. As well as OEM of course

what I was thinking... and then the harness is free to hit the marketplace (along with everything else collecting in the extra parts bin)

 

Honestly the plugs on the rear axle may fit the front hubs too. I bee tried because I don’t have the abs holes on my spindles

 

He also has a full kit which includes plugs for the rear

Need to confirm fitment - his full kit is for the 80 series land cruiser.

 

I made my own plugs because at the time this did not exist, or I did not know about it lol

 

I was going to go OEM, but when I saw the price compared to a set of Bando belts I just went with Bando. You can find all 3 bundled together usually

 

These exist because a set of ABS sensors for an 80 series axle is $600 for aftermarket and $1200 for OEM

A set is only two sensors BTW

 

So these are for FJ80 axles and not IFS spindles?

 

Wits End is for 80 and 100 series cruisers. It probably fits IFS spindles though, unless Toyota changed the design a lot.
