But the sub is awesome for what it is. I originally bought one for my single cab ranger and was impressed. So I got one for my taco as well.

I tried fitting the Rockille 10" sub under my passenger seat. I flipped that crossbar and it was able to get in there, but the sub was a little wide and made it difficult to adjust the seat. The mechanism caught on the side of the sub. I sold it to a friend and bought the 8" version and it fit great. It doesn't get quite as low of frequencies but it works well for what I listen to which is mostly Metal/Rock. If i remember I can get some pics to attach if anyone is interested.

    Too few to list.
Thanks. I was just being lazy thinking it can be pulled at an easier location. I would have to get in the back of HU to install a mini amp and an LOC for the sub.

I also had the Sound Ordinance powered sub. It was under my drivers seat and gave more bass than I thought actually. The one down for me was it buzzed and vibrated the seat a bunch. I got used to it eventually. I say I had it because I later removed it and replaced my sub with a 10" JL 10TW3. I built the enclosure to fit in the pocket behind the rear drivers side seat. I later realized in my build that I wasn't going to be able to fold the seat back up as I had wanted, so I built my enclosure a smidge larger, ported. My Sound Ordinance is kinda just sitting now and not sure what I'll do with it.

For me the Sound Ordinance made me want to go bigger, so I did, and I'm happy. My rear seats are always down so it works out with the new sub and it's still out of the way, but it's easily removable.

From the back of the head unit. If you don't have plans to go aftermarket head unit later it's best to run speaker wires near the amp and put the line out converter near the amp. You'll have less of a chance of picking up unwanted noise.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the Soun d Ordinance unit since it seems to be a popular option.

If I’m unhappy, I’ll return it since I ordered through Amazon.

I am also interested in how you like how it sounds. I am also interested in what db you get out of it. You can download a free app to find that out.

I'd be interested is seeing some pictures, I'm about ready to order one of these for my '14. Were you able to mount it with the wiring and controls towards the back?

I made my own enclosure for a 10" sub to go under the passenger seat. It is a JBL WS1000. Powered by a 500W amp under the other seat.

    sub.jpg

Was not easy to fit it there. I had to raise the seat by about 1.5", rotate the cross-brace bar, relocate the SRS sensors and wiring, and bend the seat adjustment lever. Even then, the seat lost an inch or two of travel at either end of the track.

    seat.jpg

Even with this hard-fought space, the enclosure was still way to small for the driver; the numbers came out to F0~60 Hz and Q~1.5. So I also made an active crossover for it to push it to F0 = 30 Hz and Q = 1, which is where all that amplifier power is going.

To quote what I wrote in the build log: It is not particularly loud, does not rattle windows, and definitely won't win any idiot deafness contests. But it makes disturbingly low sounds at reasonable listening levels, which is exactly what I had hoped for.

    Nice work!

You might be a professional installer so I might be wasting my time with this: you can make the box act like a bigger box by putting pillow stuffing in it. Break apart small palm sized tufts of pillow stuffing and drop them into the box with the subwoofer uninstalled. You can play with the quantity of loose tufts and it will alter the sound. The stuffing slows the sound waves down inside the box and makes it act like a box with more internal volume.

You can also port that sealed box and gain an additional 3 db.

Definitely not a professional, just a hobbyist killing time and money. I added poly fill and foam lining where I could, but it was pretty funny how little material would fit. The numbers didn't work out for porting at all, not only in terms of frequency response, but also physically, there simply wasn't enough space in the enclosure to add a correctly sized port.

Well you did a great job. After I hit the "post reply" link I realized you don't have the room for a port.
