    Mornin' Gents :hattip:

    From AlabamaWX

MILD, BREEZY TODAY: The sky will be mostly cloudy across Alabama through tonight with a south wind averaging 10-20 mph. A few showers are possible by afternoon, but a decent part of the day should be dry. But, to the west, a very active severe weather day is likely for parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

THE ALABAMA SEVERE WEATHER THREAT TOMORROW: All of Alabama has a risk of severe thunderstorms during the day tomorrow. SPC has defined an “enhanced risk” (level 3/5) for areas south of a line from Vernon to Birmingham to Opelika, with the standard “slight risk” (level 2/5) up to the Tennessee state line.

TIMING: While storms could enter far West Alabama as early as 10:00 a.m…. it looks like the core threat will come from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. This will be generally a daytime event.

THREATS: Storms tomorrow across Alabama will be capable of producing damaging straight line winds and a few tornadoes. A strong tornado (EF-2 or higher) can’t be ruled out.

IMPORTANT NOTE CONCERNING WARNINGS: A long squall line will move across Alabama tomorrow. The low level jet (5,000 feet off the ground) is forecast to be in the 50-80 knot range, and it won’t take much to get some of that transferred down to the surface with these thunderstorms. The line will capable of producing widespread wind damage, and on a day like tomorrow, I would suggest going through your tornado safety action plan if you are in a severe thunderstorm warning. Many trees will likely be blown down by this line of severe storms. Bottom line is to take severe thunderstorm warnings seriously tomorrow.

GRADIENT WIND: Even away thunderstorms, tomorrow will be a very windy day. South winds will average 15-30 mph, with gusts to 40 mph. A wind advisory is in effect for most of the state.

RAIN: Rain amounts of 1 to 2 inches are likely tomorrow; thankfully the storms will be moving quickly, which should help to mitigate major flooding issues.

CALL TO ACTION: Everyone will need a good, reliable way of getting severe weather warnings Saturday if they are needed. Be sure WEA (“emergency alerts”) are enabled on your phone, and download the free ABC 33/40 weather app as well. Have a NOAA Weather Radio in your home and business. Never rely on an outdoor siren.

Identify the safe place in your home… in a site built home, it is a small room on the lowest floor, near the center of the home, and away from windows. Be sure everybody in the family knows where that safe place is, and in that room you need helmets for everyone in your family. We also recommend having a portable air horn for everyone, as well as hard sole shoes. If you live in a mobile home, you cannot stay there if you are in a tornado warning polygon. Know the location of the nearest shelter or site built structure that is available. And, tomorrow I would recommend not being in a mobile home if you are under a severe thunderstorm warning.

We walk a fine line with events like this; we have to spread the word and clearly outline the danger, but at the same time we won’t want to spread storm anxiety. Understand, just have a way of warnings and have a good plan, and we will get through the day together just fine. You can also help us by spreading the word; many Alabamians have no idea we have a severe weather threat tomorrow. Let them know the day will be active, and they must be in a position to hear warnings.

Sunday will be dry with a partly sunny sky and a high in the mid 60s.

NEXT WEEK: Moisture returns Monday with a chance of rain by afternoon, and we will have periods of rain Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will remain mild; in fact there is a good chance we reach the low to mid 70s Tuesday and Wednesday. A few strong storms are possible at mid-week ahead of a cold front; cooler air returns Thursday and Friday, but still no sign of any really cold Arctic air. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

Here are some maps I pulled from Pivotal Weather.

Approx. location of the line tomorrow at noon central.

Sustained winds at noon central. 15-25MPH

Winds at about 2500 feet. SCREAMING out ahead of this system!! Not a good day to be a pilot on approach to Atlanta.

I'm off work and it's nice.
But I'll bite. I really like mine. I can see far better than stock headlights. I've see the biggest problem with people not adjusting them to the correct height after replacing the halogens. I assume I've done this correctly because I haven't been bright lighted by oncoming traffic as night. My LED fog can even do a cool trick, Yellow and White are selective from the same 'bulb'.

I will agree that most of the time it's probably an adjustment issue.

    But

the reason for usually having them is not a great reason. can you see better? sure. does that make it safer for you? debatable. since you're blinding everyone that is either coming towards you or blinding the folks just in front of you, you might be causing more unsafe situations for yourself than if you just kept standard lights.

nobody needs to see 1000ft in front of them in crystal clear blinding light.

the guy that got me today was driving a red prerunner tacoma and had the led pod fogs on full blast behind me, I couldn't see anything in front of me because of it. he then turned into the Reed Construction site near my job, which happens to be where every single douchey driver I come across on my commute seems to work.

oh it's all ultra debatable. all I know is the usual folks I've talked to @T4golfR cough cough...who have had some sort of LED pod or LED bulb somewhere have the mindset "I'm running them, I can see, I don't care about you" or something to that extent lol.

I adjusted my projectors facing the windshield of my corolla so i would know the exact cutoff . While yes at a distance the will shine right in but when you get closer the cutoff works exactly how it is supposed to. I agree i think its an adjustment issue for people with projectors. The people who stick LED and HID bulbs into stock 2nd gen housings should be whipped publicly lol. I can say i was guilty of this until i grew a pair and got some projector headlights. I have my baja s2 aiming down. Its perfect for fogs because they spread the ground in front. Yes they do shine up a little still but not to the degree of killing your eyes. I made sure they would not. I have great light output without screwing everyone on the road. That being said yes there will be the occasional Mazda Miata that i will be behind and their car is so low that it blinds the hell out of the in the rear view. Sorry nothing can be done about cars that basically touch the ground.

I've had someone do that to me in the past. I just speed up, or flip my rear view mirror so it doesn't bother me. I for some time considered workspace lights to go on the back of the truck that I could return the bright light favor without going into reverse, but my LED reverse lights means that I don't need more functional lights on a nightly basis. I'm not spending money just to be a pr*ck,

I run mine all the time. The ones I think you are referring to are the ones I had a long time ago on my 4Runner that didn't have cutoffs(me you and Andrew going to get beers and cigars that night). I didn't have them in very long at all before I replaced those. Funny story about those are Matt (bumper builder) bought those for me to put in when he built the bumper so he didn't really know. All my other foglights I've run all have cutoffs due to the "blinding" factor. As said above though, the brightest lights out there right now are Honda/Accura headlights. They trump all aftermarket lights anywhere and even have cutoffs but it doesn't stop the blinding factor.

haha yeah those are def the ones I was talking about! I know folks are going to run what they want to run, and heck most new cars have way too bright of lights from the factory. I just simply don't understand the lack of consideration for the people in front of you. If I pull in a drive thru in my truck I'll even turn off my non bright ass headlights just because I know they are visible to the person in front of me.
