Anyone running plug and play LED headlight bulbs on a 1st gen? I ordered some on Amazon and want to make sure I don’t need to add anything before install due to ohms.

youll be fine but everyone here gonna come in flaming on ur bc they disperse the pattern and blind ppl. I wouldn't care tho bc 95% of the ppl on the road run blinding lights like that/ lift their trucks and never adjust their beams. U do u its ur taco, but yes youll be set, no other wiring needed

Thanks man. I have the brightest off the shelf lights and I can’t see so planning on building a decent housing to put these in. I was just concerned on the wiring

if you can't see....isn't that an eye issue moreso than the light issue?

if you can't see with standard halogens, then you need to see an eye doctor...

I have my windshield tinted. That’s the issue but I like keeping light out. I have 19/20 vision

Yes, but it’s 35% and in Indiana rarely do cops say much. It’s hard to tell in daylight

so...since you have illegally tinted your windshield...you require brighter lights that will affect the drivers around you in a negative way? instead of just removing the tint?

I am building housings for them. I’m not going to put them in stock housings. Yes I understand your point 100% however my 2018 Toyota Camry has LED headlights factory and are very bright.

He doesn't want to "do it right". He wanted to know if he can run LED bulbs on stock wiring; which he can.

Running LED's or HID's in halogen housing = thumbs down. Can't stand seeing that on the road letalone getting blinded by them.

I noticed that snow and slush will build up and not fall off when driving at night on the highway, no heat from LEDs.
I don't us them this time of the year.

If you are building housings for them, then what kind? They have to be projectors if they are going to be any better than stock halogens. And if you're doing that, you need LED specific projectors and LED bulbs that work with those projectors.

Your Camry lights work so well because they were designed that way. They are Bi-LED projector headlights.
A kit like this would give you similar quality: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/bi-led-morimoto-m-led-headlight-projectors-kit.html

As an aside from the argument of the thread, that's an interesting observation and does show how effective LED is in using energy to create light and not heat. Heat is a wasted by product of the halogen, might not be so much wasted if it keeps the headlamps clear of snow and ice. that had never crossed my mind and thanks for sharing the observation :cool:
