My 2017 tacoma around 2 weeks ago started to make a cricket like sound.

It happens any time i rev my engine, theres a background cricket noise and i have not been able to pinpoint where the location is coming from.

Any ideas what this might be?
I tried posting a video of it on here but tacomaworld is not letting me. I can send it through a social media app of possible.

High Pressure Fuel Pump can sound like crickets under the hood.

If its a chirping noise you hear it could be a loose belt, bad drive belt tensioner, idler, anything that spins with a bearing. First you have to remove the drive belt and start the engine and press the gas pedal. If you still hear the noise then it's an internal problem. If there is no noise, then it could be anything that spins with the belt. You have to spin each pulley individually to determine if the noise is coming from there.

It's the fuel pump, earlier models (like my 16) were known for it.

Out warranty? Just live with it, its crazy expensive.

@shakerhood it actually does sound sort of like that video in the link but a lot less noisey for sure and only happens when i rev/pushing down the gas pedal. Goes away immediately after i let go of the gas pedal to change gears

But im still going to make an appointment for the dealer to see if certain parts are still covered. Doubt they will warranty it tho. Its lifted, with 33s also...

I was going to do this yesterday on Sunday. But on saturday i ended heading to big bear. For the first time instead of Arco gasoline i tried Mobile one premium gas. After saturdays big bear trip i havent heard the noise for the first time in 2-3 weeks. I dont know if it was the type of gas i used or maybe the off road section i did removed a loose rock it might of had somewhere. I have no clue:homer:

So the noise came back the next day or so. I ended up checking the pulleys and they seem to be in good condition.

But i think i might have figured out what it is... and im thinking its a clutch bearing. I put the truck in neutral and revved it to hear the noise and whenever i press on the clutch, the noise goes away right when i press down on the clutch.

I must be using the clutch like a dummy when i off road for it to be the clutch bearing this soon at 37k miles...

Doesnt hurt to check with the dealer like @BlackGT99 mentioned

I was driving the other day and i noticed that the chirping goes away after very slightly pressing the clutch. Is there any way i can get to the clutch fork without having to take off the tranny off my truck?
I would like to put grease on the clutch fork. I have a feeling the clutch fork might be the one causing the noise to occur since it goes away by just slightly touching the clutch pedal
