Hey all looking to see if anyone has used the KB Voodoo crossbars with the undercover flex. I don’t think it’s impossible with some drilling but I was looking to see if anyone in here has already come up with something. Cheers!

the KB voodoo stuff might not work with our stuff just because of how it's mounted
we would need to do a large cut out in the mounting plate, and reinforce the mounting plate with more screws into the t-rail system we have.

and with the profile of the drain gutter, i believe we'd be cutting out the foam seal

@KB Voodoo Any idea if it'll work? (sorry to ping you, but i too can't find anything on it either, i know we need to cut out the plastic cap on the bed)

but if their mount doesn't work have you thought of doing something like this thread? https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/custom-bedrack-tonneau-bakflip-mx4-build.562458/

I personally run the Ultraflex version myself and the KB mount isn't something i'm after as i need the crossbars on and off at the drop of a hat.

I was looking at it and wondering if I could just go behind the bracket and use the ore existing bolts from the undercover but I’m not too sure on the stability of it. I’m not super worried about cutting a little into the foam seal. I really like that guys setup I’m gonna shoot him a message, thank you!

The main reason I wanted crossbars was to do this. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cheap-rtt-for-those-on-a-budget.478273/

I’m considering looking for an old Thule or Yakima rack in Craigslist and maybe doing some modifications on it to make it fit. If I can find a relatively inexpensive one I wouldn’t be so worried about messing it up.

Yeah i too wanted to run in the same direction; i condense my own findings here
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/shveets-build-thread-clementine.619286/#post-22474789

but originally wanted to get a thule or Yakima system, but the prices (without the cross bars) are around $600 for me, which is out of my range. one of the links in the post above shows how the other guys mounted it, which is right through the plastic and into the bed metal, secured with plusnuts/ rivnuts on the 2nd gen, but the 2nd build link shows it going through the plastic cap (which is what we need to do to keep the seal in place)

gonna DIY it in a similar fashion but with "L" or 'airline' tracks. just waiting for them to get in

Edit: Updated the link, where it's a more diverse page

if you'd like a write up of how another fellow installed his system (this time he used the Rhino brand)
@Polvalt mentioned this link in another thread on the same subject of the cross bars
other than that, best of luck!
