And it looks like the quickchange Pulley thread from Pulleyboys says the Eaton M45 kit will fit, correct?

 

Well, I finally got my pillar pod all mounted up. It's nice to have coolant temp back at my command. I got two OBD 2 X series gauges so I can switch to so many different PIDS on a whim if I don't want to see ECT.

 

Do you have to switch between obd2 ports or do they piggy back on each other.

 

There were a couple of install tools making their rounds through a TW exchange program. Note that, to seat the hub properly, a washer (or two) has to be added.

do you know the best washer to use? Inner diameter, outer diameter?

and does the washer get put on before the inner hub (for the pulley boys quick change set up)????? I was hoping this was an easy project!!! Haha

it is easy. Once you see it. The premise is that the hub of the quick change doesn’t sit flush and needs go an additional 1/8” to 3/16” deeper. The washer just pushes it on further. The tool will bottom out on the shaft without the washer. I can take some pics.

 

I don't recall the washer size - I picked-up two washers that had the same inside diameter as the pulley (so they fit around the S/C drive shaft). Outside diameter was almost irrelevant - they're just acting as spacers to permit seating the hub (maybe 1/8" in from the shaft's end). @zippsub9 posted pictures here.

It might sound complicated, but it's not. IIRC, @White lightning boosted went with a socket to seat his. (This requires a little more care because its easy to seat the pulley too deeply, whereas the washers limit how deeply it can go.)

Also, I took a few pics of the area of the “misting” I mentioned earlier. Keep in mind this has occurred over the past 8ish months so it’s not like a huge leak (IMO)

Check your PVC valve/hose connection to air intake. That was the first sign of my 4th piston oil ring going out. Go back on my posts for pictures. An oil catch can might help keep your intake system clean. Are you burning any oil?

 

nice to see this setup again. I was thinking of doing the same if/when I need/want to run 2 more gauges. I have a Lotek i need to install.

how is the view to the stock gauges and such. Seems like it could block a few things but may not be that big of a deal.

 

i did. be sure the socket is big enough to not damage the shaft.....like i did.

 

It doesn't block anything. It sort of creates more of a blind spot at the pillar, but it's a small inconvenience for an important payoff.
