Chriping sound when I step on the gas pedal quickly

Sigh! I know how this sounds and I hate being the one:anonymous:.
When I step on my gas pedal quick, I hear a chirping/squirting sound while driving. Weird thing is, after I park and step on it quick while inspecting under the dash I don't hear anything. Also when I step on the gas slowly, the sound isn't there.
It's hard to explain, but when my friend asked me to make the sound, I said it sounds like Axe body spray when pressed and he won't stop laughing .
Nothing is wrong with the vehicle. Everything works/responds as it should. I just can't explain the sound. Can somebody explain whats this sound coming from?

But it sounds like the sound is coming from the foot well. Isn't the fuel pump somewhere in the back of the truck inside the gas tank maybe? It sounds like a quick "ptssssshhhh" sound. Like oil is squirting or steam releasing under pressure or like pressing a can of pressurized fluid.

It’s under the hood on the right side of engine near the fire wall, but it’s actually a. Chirping sounds. Like a miniature prairie dog or small bird chirp.

When I hit the throttle, I hear some chirping too from the right rear. I've been dealing with it for 35 years on 6/7 different vehicles. It's maddening.

There's two pumps. One in the tank, drivers side and the notorious hpfp passengers side firewall. I know exactly what type of sound you're referring to, but can't say Ive heard it on mine.

That's not a symptom of the HPFP. There's a regular fuel pump in the tank and also one inside the engine bay called a high pressure fuel pump. So I don't think it is that if it's coming from the footwell. Anyway to get a video?

The Air Conditioning system will occasionally make a sound like Darth Vader exhaling, probably what you are hearing.

Did you ever find out what was causing it? Am experiencing the same thing, either when I accelerate quickly, or when I'm going between 60-75 mph. It doesn't sound like the chirping referenced in post #3, more like steam/pressure releasing, like the can of axe . It happens pretty regularly on the interstate (every couple minutes or so)

I have a similar situation when quick pressing the gas pedal, almost a high-pitched scratching noise, right before the engine revs up. Doesn't happen when engine is off. I had the dealership look at it once when I was there for the fuel pump recall exchange and they didn't know what was causing it, one guy theorized something about the exhaust opening. I have no idea if this is on the right track or not. I've probably driven another 5k miles since then and I've had no problems at all, just mildly annoying.

Your Sport has a skewp that vastly improves the power output of the engine. You are hearing the tires spin.

If it’s by the engine it might be a pulley that needs to be replaced. It has happened to a lot of the 3rd gens.
