1.7? That's pretty huge IMO. I took mine off and saw a little drop but not anywhere near that. Everyone's drives different anyway.

Yup, that's how I did it. No other way I could think of. A little tight getting your hands in there to place the bolts.

I wonder if the 300watt draw is constant. If so it could drain things quickly... Trying to find something for my RTT. It 's the Smitty XL so there's allot to heat...

Nice! Debagging also looks way better IMO. I don't want to drive a billboard...

    It’s basically like this
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-dimming-drl-switchback-functionality.552203/
I didn’t need to smoke it out I just put in the lights and ran the wire through the doors and fuse tapped it inside. Right now it’s running off ignition, so when I turn on the car it’s always on. Well at least until I can get a button for it

Is that a 42in box? It looks bigger, but I can’t tell.

That's a horrible idea. What time?

This whole thing with the weight in the truck is getting kind of crazy. The reason to do it is to add some weight and give you a little more traction on the rear wheels. It isn't so you can go faster, run slalom courses, or lift the front of the truck for what ever reason. If you adding weight, your concerned about traction. But no one has brought stopping distance. Increased weight = increased traction = increased speed shouldn't be the goal. It's the same school of thought that says "I have a 4X4, so I can faster through (fill in the blank). But you still have to stop. Bottom line for me, having spent most of my life in Michigan winters with a 2WD, if you can't handle your vehicle as is in what ever conditions your driving, you shouldn't be driving in them. Just my two cents.

If you had a dual battery set up, or even just had like a marine battery that you kept in the bed... I just use a mr heater and run it long enough to heat things up then turn it off. I know carbon monoxide is a worry so I just do it in short spurts. If I wake up cold I’ll turn it back on for a few minutes. It can get the tent pretty warm very quickly.

We all learn how to walk before we learn how to run. I think you did pretty good.
The nice thing about doing something for yourself is that you can do it until "you" are satisfied with the end result.
