Installed the Curt 2" trailer hitch this weekend. I was going to do a write up of the installation but this video explains the whole process well enough. https://www.etrailer.com/tv-install-trailer-hitch-2017-toyota-tacoma-c13264.aspx

Honestly though, install was a pain in the d*ck. If you don't have a lift then having two people will definitely make your life easier. Trying to get the bolt through the plate and out the hole in the tubing was near impossible (2:20 on the video). It took me 30-40min and lots of cursing to get them through. But definitely worth it in the end.

Installing a hitch on my own is one of the best full-body workouts I've ever had.

I unboxed my hitch and placed it at the rear of the truck, I then read the install instructions and slid myself under the truck and had a look at the tunnel I’d need to feed those bolts through. I then placed said hitch in the truck bed and brought everything to my local gas station mechanic and walked home. 1 hour later I was walking back to the station to retrieve my truck with said hitch installed. Easy Peasy!

Nice to have a local station willing to do that. What did they charge you?

I'm retired military and was able to use the lift at my local bases auto hobby shop. I couldn't imagine doing it on the ground. IMG_20191104_113030.jpg

Don't get me wrong, I like my OR, but there is something about a no frills SR. I love browsing through this thread.

I had considered that too but I read on TW that the spray on products don't adhere well. The roll on products are supposed to be marginally better. I got a Westin bed mat for ~$95 shipped.
