Might be able to stop by tomorrow! We’re going to camp somewhere in TN for the weekend. We need to roll through Chattanooga to get a new CVT mattress

Very cool man. I may have a smitty 9.5 for sale for a good price. Synth line and all. I have three of them, decided to step up to a beefier WARN :$

    This is an old thread..
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/recommended-winch-grease.345442/

My x20 like I told you had more use in a year than most you see on the road ever will. Never had a problem with the engagement handle being hard to switch back and forth. But could've been that it was used a bunch before it got cold.

I had a Smitty 9.5 on a trailer and it was hard to get the handle to move.. but it was installed when it was freezing and below outside and I actually never used it so not sure if it got better with use.

If you go x20, open the remote, and get a spare battery to what's actually in there, not what it says is inside.

I had my eyes on the comparable warn, but the price jumped $200 or something IMO because of the #expoAF movement driving up demand, so that's what made me go to Smitty, and I'd buy again.

Let me know how much also. I think it's my next purchase. I almost bought the 9.5 from 4wheelparts today for $271.

I will let you guys know about the winch soon. Didn’t plan on pulling it until a couple days ago. May take me just a bit to get it out, got my hands full with this 4runner project.

    TW Express Needed
Does anyone have any plans on going anywhere near Melbourne FL.
There is a Drawer Setup I want down there.

Think I paid 299 for mine, pretty good price.

IMO I would go with synthetic to begin with since it's not that much extra. If you buy snatch blocks and anything else the cable runs through, it's not something you'll want to ever use on synthetic. It'll wear and create sharp points that will tear up synthetic. Being safer, lighter, easier to work with can all just be bonus'

And if you want to be well equipped to use the winch in most scenarios, plan to spend more than the cost of the winch on accessories. Shackles, straps, snatch blocks, more shackles, frame hooks, chain, kinetic strap, tree strap...etc

Nice man. I found some toilets a few weeks ago. People suck. Took them to the dump.

Nice work. The people who left them there deserve a nice dose of lead to the head. I'll pick up the tab. :hattip:

I think what @Stig is saying it to go synthetic from the start, or swap out everything when switching to a synthetic line. You don't want to run a steel line through all your recovery accessories (snatch block, etc.), and then later swap your line to synthetic but retain the same accessories. I'll let him elaborate, or correct me if my interpretation is in err.
