New to TW from T4R

I've been on here since November of '19 when I bought my 2019 Black Sport. As I alluded to in my title, I came from T4r.org as I have a '99 4Runner which I've building for years. Mostly modest stuff but some good stuff too (3" suspension lift, UCA's SCS Ray10s and 275 70 KO2s etc)
There wasn't an area I really hadn't worked on on that truck and recently got it just the way I wanted it, with the last mod - an OEM sport hood painted white. It was a Limited so it never came with a scoop. And yes that was the primary reason I bought a Sport Tacoma - I just love the way the scoop looks on these trucks. Well, I thought my Runner would last forever (it ONLY had 215K on it lol) but it threw a rod and Now it sits in my driveway. Bought the Tacoma the same day. Since I've been on the forum and with the forum as a guide and resource, I've already done the Kicker amp/speaker upgrade and replaced my Sport grill with a Pro grill. Also added an OEM power tailgate lock and some black out items. I'm also in the que to get a BHLM and retro on my headlights by a member - the lights really suck on this thing NO LEDS REALLY!!

Anyways, I come with a wealth of experience. I used to work for Snap On and Hunter on their equipment so I have a lot of training/experience in alignments, tires and balancing, and things of that nature although that was a while ago. I also have a lot of electrical knowledge and diagnostic in general so if I can help or contribute in anyway possible on the forum I will certainly try.

Welcome and FYI, you can upgrade to the 2020 LED headlights for about $1500, a member here makes the harness for $100 and the lights can be found for $1200-1500.

Do the led headlights actually shine further than the halogen bulbs?

I know led are brighter and whiter up close. But for distance I’d like to see a comparison.

Those new 2020 LEDs are sweet looking for sure and I thought about that. That new DRL is a little different but I like the dual projectors. However I'm going to give a member on here my business. Seems he's done some nice work for a little while now and he using Morimoto HID bulbs and projectors which seem to have the best performance in my (old) eyes anyways. I can also further "customize" them how I want them. Nothing crazy just some tinting to further emphasize the "murder" look (minus the matte paint though, although if I could do that...). Now if I could just find some tail lights that are tinted but still safe and don't look too ricey. I'll probably just leave em alone for safety though.

 

Surprised you have removed the stupid double chin yet, I did that as soon as I pulled in the driveway from the dealer.

 

Excuse my ignorance. I've seen that referenced on here but haven't really looked into it. What is it? That airdam underneath?
