We positive these came off a 99? This does look like the S-Runner smooth paint matched flares, but they were only 2001-2004. Seller could have possibly been mistaken?

Ahhh, know what? The 2001-2004 Limited models also got the smooth color matched flares. So the S-Runner got the Limited's flares, or vice versa.

Nice to hear, some one with one! They are fiberglass? You have repainted them or repaired them or how do you find this out?

I saw your srunner thread and checked your sources of info listed, did not see any stating they were made of fiberglass..

Now this is what I was looking for, some real world experience to tap into to increase our knowledge! Thanks a bundle for chiming in here really, and gratz on owning such a cool rare truck!! I'd suggest to keep it as I suspect those things will go up in value one day soon.

Sounds like indeed you confirmed it was fiberglass at that time as it was showing its fiber and that was how it was repaired I take it. You are certain those are original too yes!? Had to ask since you are crushing my dream now, sorry!

Now to really complete this thread I am wondering if there are any difference in dimensions with these fiberglass SRrunner flares and the 99 narrow (plastic?) flares I just purchased. Have you even been able to compare yours with the 99 narrow versions by chance? Are they identical expect for the fiberglass maybe?

Of course the ultimate confirmation would be a part # for this oem fiberglass fender unless they never made spare parts at all for these, is that possible? Then again, where the heck are any SRunner part numbers for things like "tuned" springs and the rear sway bar for that matter? What about that tuned exhaust and steering box.. mythical stuff for certain here. Maybe if a factory does not make too many vehicles, it doe snot have to support it with spare parts?

This thread is getting more informative than I thought, the SRunner sure is an intriguing machine for sure. Checking the ads for one just for fun now... maybe I should get one while you can get a clean affordable one still!

Well well, first stinking SRunner for sale I look at sure enough has some really scuffed up fender flares and it sure looks like some white peeking through hinting of the fiberglass construction...

They had some cool pics of the truck including the window sticker broken into 3 pics I spliced together. Doesnt even say its an SRunner from what I can see, but you can see the "EXTERIOR - full color-keyed overfenders". Also the SRunner mechanical and performance stuff, tuned exhaust, coil and leafs, front and rear sway bars. This thing actually got some luxury items to ("sport" seats, tilt, leather wheel), which is nice for a sport model!

Decided since I had the vin, why not go for it all and look it up on the toyota owners site for full specs from the factory.

Here is her story.. even though it still doesnt say SRunner anywhere oddly!

All said now, I am very glad I started the thread and purchased these "overfenders". Maybe they are not identical to SRunner flares, but if this is the case I think we just found out the rarest and most sought after part for any Tacoma ever made here!!

Thanks again to all for the info and help, and stay tuned for the PRunner flares I got coming.. P for plastic that is!

Pretty sure mine are fiberglass. I've squeezed them on trees and they look stress cracked.

2001+ mounts to fender AND wheel well, 2000 and before only mount under lip in wheel well. No holes in fender.

We should see a seperate Toyota part number if it is indeed shared with the color keyed ones on the limiteds.
I wonder if S-Runner was a dealer add on then? This is getting weird

No, the S-Runner package was a factory Toyota option available on 2001-2004 2WD (5-lug) extras cab Tacomas.

Thought so. Did they have a seperate fender flare from the others?

Yes the S-Runner flares are different from the ones OP has bought. FYI OP @2Runner you said that the flares are from a 1999 and the part number you have is 7587104010. This means it is the right side, the left part number should be 7587204010. From my research these part numbers are for the painted to match fender flares that were available on the Limited package for a 2000 Tacoma TRD-Off Road and not an S-Runner. Also, from my info the part numbers

    Edit: Corrected my info.

That is the main question of the thread here really, and the forum cant come up with the full answer... yet!? Juicy stuff here ehh?

I think we are finding out the SRunner had fiberglass fender flares where all the others I suppose we are assuming are plastic or what the heck are they normally then?! And why would they use fiberglass on just one part if so? Maybe since they did not plan to make to many of these fiberglass became less costly than the tooling for plastics, anyhow..

I may have to find one for sale locally just to compare head to head in person since no one in the world of Tacoma's has chimed in with this ability. Guess I am one of few into both 2wd and 4wd Yota's from this generation, too bad my 4wd is a 4runner though, and I dont want to start down that path of variations here now!

The Toyota part number for the S-Runner flares are:

    Front Left: 75872-35900
    Front Right: 75871-35900
    Rear Left: 75874-35900, Step-side: 75874-35901
    Rear Right: 75873-35900, Step-side: 75873-35901

These are different from the part numbers for the color keyed flares you have.

Edit: The part numbers I posted up above may or may not be specific to just to S-Runners. I was going to delete them but decided to leave them up incase someone needs them for research.

Sounds like you have some detailed knowledge on the subject of fender flares, awesome!

Can you describe what makes them different (other than the aforementioned fiberglass and paint), are they different shape and size or how the heck can you tell them apart by the photo and part #?

Are you aware of any part number for the different SRunner flares that you are aware of and/or can share or can you explain why no one can find a part number for these? Is there a part number on the part's themselves someone can look up maybe?

Please enlighten us all on all you know about the Tacoma flares! How do I spot the right one out there?
