Loosened the nut behind the wheel. ADS mid travel.
    Will do.

Tearing stuff apart tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have it done by next week.

This is my 1st aftermarket off road suspension. I'm pretty sure I'll be impressed, especially compared to the worn out stock stuff that's on there.
Thinking back, I don't think I've even been off road in a set up vehicle before.

I sure do love having coilovers and the suspension done up on my cars though.

Just got these on today, they feel so good, 700lbs and 22.5 inch from middle of hub, planning on adding weight later on but 8 threads showing on driver and 5 on passenger. Thanks for @state48overland and Ben for hooking it up at aztoypros

    Looks great UC!

    Clarification on the specs:
    Currently 265/70/17 tires
    (plan to eventually run 285/70/17)
Goal to keep lift proportionate looking at this time with current tire size
Installed ICON RXT pack left at option 1, (23 7/8" center hub /bottom fender in rear 1 7/8" over stock) your current offroad/camping weight keeps it 1/2" above level when loaded up
700lbs spring rate coil-overs (came at 6 threads on driver side and 3 threads preset from ADS-which was perfect for about 2" of lift)
Goal was to get to 2.5" lift in the front, (set driver side to 8 threads and passenger side to 5 threads-center hub/bottom fender-22.5") springs will settle in a bit-then we can touch up adjust it again for you!

For some reason this is a hard thing to find and I’ve been digging through this thread and can’t seem to find the answer. Can anyone tell me what the stroke length is for the extended travel vs the standard travel 2.5 coil overs?

Mine are assembled, but I think 4.5" is a close guestimate using a tape measure for the extended travel.

That's the distance between the bottom of the shock body and when it will hit the bottom spring perch.

Whether they move that far internally, I don't know yet?

    Hope that helps

EDIT: Looks like I Might have been sent the wrong coilovers.

The stroke is the first column after the description. Add 1/2” for extended length

This is directly from ADSs 2019 product spreadsheet. Sorry it’s small, had to d a screenshot since it wouldn’t let me load the file on my phone

Awesome, thanks! Any idea how close it is to 1 or 2" for the extended length? I'm going to be measuring my droop because I top out more than I expected for being at 2.5" of lift and trying to make sure I actually have the extended travel version that I ordered. I guess I'll know pretty soon if it's at least an inch more than the 4.5" spec.

2” of lift should set you right. Extended travel is really only 1/2” longer.

I run 1.5” of lift with the extended travel and the ride is cherry

I just added ADS shocks with the Icon RXT's set on stage 1 and it rides great on the road. Will report back when i take it off road.

Loosened the nut behind the wheel. ADS mid travel.
I measured again, and now I'm totally confused.

It seems to me that ADS doesn't make a mid or standard travel coilover length. Only 1/2" less stroke than stock?

Mine are right at 4.5" till metal contacts, not 5" like i first measured, fixed that above. That seems to be their stock travel length according to your chart.

I have pn#250-T4006-A00 on the box.

This thread says that stock shock travel is 5.07"
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2nd-gen-tacoma-shock-info-compilation.232447/

    Something seems wrong here.

How can a mid travel kit have less travel than stock?

I talked to Tyler at ADS on the phone, he said that their standard travel option is what they call mid travel.

Interesting. Not sure because I’m not a shock expert, but 5” does seem accurate for stock stroke

It seems like it should be an apples to apples comparison since both use the same attachment points with the stock LCA's.

Wheel travel should be the same ratio for each, based on where they attach to the LCA, multiplied by shock travel length.

I agree. I would call ADS and ask Karl perhaps since he rebuilds the shocks

Can you post the model # of your coilovers?

Spey, can you upload that whole file.
I'm wondering if it says anything about a mid travel or extended travel kit.

I'm starting to wonder if ADS even sells a mid travel kit, or ever did.
