    Agreed. Based on my experience, you can definitely get a better off the lot, usually a MUCH better deal. They want to move the existing inventory that's costing them money sitting there. I've been going back and forth for months on ordering a DCLB TRD Off-Road in cement with no dealer accessories because there are no such trucks within 250 miles of me. Fortunately, I found this MGM example that has the exact factory options I want. The only minor issues are the color and the predator steps, floor liners that I don't want, but I'm sure I can get them to remove that stuff and, incidentally, MGM is my 2nd color choice, so I'm good with that.

    I'm also eligible for the Toyota employee family discount, so I am planning to offer 13% below MSRP including the emp discount. I think this is a very fair offer. In any case, I'm prepared to walk if they don't accept, although I don't see why they wouldn't. Any thoughts?

    Hey all I'm new to the forum, but have been driving Tacomas since 2010. Had a 2010 TRD sport for 4 years, then a car (worst mistake of my life), then back to a 2016 TRD OR.

    I recently got the itch to trade in my 2016 4x4 TRD OR DCSB on a new 2020. I'm looking to upgrade to some of the creature comforts. So I've been trying to get quotes and so far the best offer I can get is 40,513. The starting MSRP is 44,545 less discounts of 4,134 and a rebate of 500 totaling 39,820. The dealer then has a doc fee of 693, which seems absurdly high, but I haven't been able to get them to waive that. So the total is 40,513 before TTL

    A little bit about the truck they are quoting me. Its a 2020 4x4 TRD Sport in cement DCSB (36,965). The add ons included are the LED headlight (485), the tech package (800), tonneau cover (650), the premium package (4285), and bed lights (149). The last thing added is 1,120 in destination charges.

    I originally got the first offer somewhere in the range of 41,3XX before TTL another dealer undercut that to 40,916 before TTL. After that the original dealer then gave me the current offer, which I cannot get them to go below (40,513). Based on what I've seen here I should be able to get more off, but I certainly haven't had any luck over the past couple of weeks.

    Any advice on the price would be appreciated.

    Only the cleanest trade-ins ever go on the lot for sale, the vast majority of them go to auction.

    The LEDs and the power seat are the main reasons I decided to go with the 2020 instead of saving a few bucks on a 2019.
    It's the incompatibility of the housing that is the problem, not the bulb, although there are obviously good ones and bad ones. It is absolutely true that installing an LED bulb in a housing that was designed for incandescent will almost always cause ridiculous light scatter and you will blind oncoming traffic. Projector housings do deal with LEDs a bit better than a typical reflector housing at aiming the light, but they're not going to perform anywhere near as good as the OEM LEDs.

    Unless your current vehicle is broken down, i wouldn’t bother making offers on these Tacoma’s with held back features that make them a 2020. Just wait until mid year or even for the 2021s.

    Correct, which is why he probably got a low trade offer as the dealer knew it wasn’t gonna sit on the lot and head straight to auction. I worked a summer at Manheim as an auction clerk, very familiar.

    I will admit I did not see these. It looks like the OP is still updating with new comparisons. Still, I think it's worth pointing out that it's not like these LEDs got some glowing review of being better than other aftermarket halogen options.

    I was looking at the 2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road DC with Manual...it has the LED package. It comes out to be like $41k and the TRD Pro is about $45k/$46k also manual... how much are they will to knock off at this winter market? thx

    No i definitely am aware that the stock housings are much better with halogens. Just wanted to point out LED options. I bet within a year there will be LED options that match or outperform the best halogens.

    That would be great. While I appreciate the review the TW member posted about that particular light, I’m still skeptical about performance and especially longevity. Early LED replacements for incandescent home lights had notoriously short life’s despite the “15 year” promises on the package. They’re gradually getting better. Appears it’s mostly the circuit integrity. Which coming from off brand companies in China is probably poor all around for these Amazon car LEDs.

    I have well reviewed LED fog lights that perform well but lasted about 1 year. I can’t be replacing $80 led lamps every year. Until then long life halogens are fine for me.

    In any case, back on topic the 2020 LED lamps are probably in another category all together compared to aftermarket bulbs.

    I’ll keep my 19 until it falls apart one day. With that said , if I truly wanted a good deal on a 2020 I’d just wait out the “NEW” prices. Before the year is over you guys will start finding the same great deals as were found on the 2019 Pro last year. Patience can save lots of money on buying vehicles at the right time. If a few grand or so isn’t a big deal ........... Go ahead , make the purchase and be happy. Lol

    I think many Tacoma buyers were waiting for the updated 2020 Tacoma to debut and held off on purchasing a 2019 model. The 2021 Tacoma’s will be hitting dealerships in only 9 months. The end of the year would be a great time to purchase a 2020 model. Are you patient enough to wait?

    Late last year the 2019s had a $1,500 rebate while the 2020s had a $1,000 rebate. Beyond that it depended on your negotiating skills.
    I was able to negotiate an 11.5% discount (including the rebate) on a 2020, I'm not sure I could have done much better on a 2019.
    For me it just made sense to get a 2020, even if I could have saved a little on a 2019. I wanted the 2020 upgrades.
    I think the differences between the 2020 and a 2021 will probably be less than the 2020 refresh. If you wait until the 2021 model year is out a 2020 may make sense even if it only saves a few hundred.
    Just my opinion.

    I would be surprised to see any changes at all on the 2021's other than color changes.
