Running out of things to do to the truck so today I water-jetted these name plates to replace the manufactures sticker on my new sliders. Made out of 1/8” aluminum and blasted them with garnet media to give them a flat silver look.

 

That would eliminate some of the young 3rd Gen owners real quick

41,000 miles and the butt dyno was sensing a lack of power. I replaced the the plugs and air filter this weekend. Some of the plugs looked better than others. I checked the gap and they ranged anywhere from 42.5 to 48. Seems like it's hitting back on all 6 cylinders. I also replaced the brakes and rotors as one or both of them was warped. For $60 buck each, why not. I'll turn the original ones and use them next time.

 

Not today, but I went out for a ride with the boys last weekend. Truck is up for an oil change and good hand wash this week. Just did the interior Sunday.

It was a pretty easy install. I went with the soldering the switch method and quick disconnects to the HVAC wires that power the illumination.

If you’re looking to do it, buy it now! Apparently he isn’t going to be making them anymore.

Did a couple of things this week.

First was @flyzeye designs glove box and center console LEDs.

Next was the Map Light/Dome Light mod. Took a little longer than I wanted, the festoon connection in the dome broke off and I had to figure out how to keep it attached. Used quick disconnects on both ends, just cause.

 

How did you do the map/dome light mod? Looks good man!

 

Used so many different posts to do it. Essentially I ran a wire from what I think is the switched ground for the dome to the unused “prong” in the map light wiring harness. If I had a Toyota OEM wire end terminal (thing that goes into a wiring harness) I would’ve used that.

Honestly just tie a wire into that little hole for the dome light, and send it directly to that unused prong. Hopefully you don’t run into the issues I did (festoon connection breaking off).

Most likely! It’s just a magnet in the lid of the console that switches it on/off. Could easily go into a console safe.

 

Ohhh, I thought you had it wired. How big is the battery box?
