    @tgelata Is that rear bolt into a factory mount or did you just drill a hole? Thought I'd ask before I went out to the garage... Finishing my latte first :anonymous:

    Factory hole, had plugs in both sides of the frame. Ties in with the sway bar mount too

    as you can see the winch and cradle will stick out a bit but you already know this.
    when that was moved to the rear it did not fit. I think its a good idea..

    Looking at the BAMF ones and the C4 reinforcement plates again,
    The C4 plate uses one of the sway bar mounting holes. Do you run front suspension with an external reservoir or no? Others seem to have issues with both fox and king mounts not being compatible

    Seems like the BAMF ones would ignore that issue, so i see why Daks would prefer BAMF over C4.

    This is a relentless mount which is sinliar to the c4. Doesn’t wrap underneath but can definetely make it work

    i couldn't find if Rfab is still selling their bracket or not...

    upload_2020-1-29_10-8-1.jpg
    red = relent fab bracket
    Purple = king bracket
    blue = frame

    the difference between the relent fab and the c4 one is that c4 bracket DOES wrap under/ around like the king bracket does in the photo you sent, meaning the holes won't align or some other fun stuff would need to happen. probably just cut the wrap around but off of the king mount and weld the thing directly to the c4 mount

    Im on 5100’s for now. So no resi for me.
    I havent decided what in going to do with the front end yet.

    could easily just weld the resi mount to the c4 brace or modify it to bolt onto it.

    Welcome to the great game of modifying things. Once you hit a certain point Instructions go out the window and you just modify the puzzle pieces however you want till they fit lol

    when i spoke to Pete just now,
    so with that
    LET THOSE SPARKS FLY
    :welder:

    I'm figuring that out quickly enough, that instructions only go so far (i don't think i've read one before):rolleyes:. Don't have a welder at home, so most of the "easy" solutions seem far-fetched to me or not-easily-doable since i've not ever taken into consideration at how much more easier things are with a welder on hand

    Saw a pic once of some white Canadian taco stuck in snow somewhere in the USA, the owner said traction boards are useless in that much snow. :crapstorm:

    I am pretty sure he is wrong, but he will tell you he isnt :rofl:
    Sounded like user error to me, since they are the only thing I have used for recovery. Those and a shovel. I have made it home every time.:anonymous:

    @tgelata I hear what you are saying, pushing the winch out 12" and pulling sideways or on an angle can damage my shiz. I do have the ARB bumper with those support brackets like @Norilsk said. So I feel a bit more comfy with that idea. Something you always have to be aware of when you are putting stress on the rig in recovery. :thumbsup:

    let's be honest, you don't do trails I do. So YMMV ;)
    Where you used traction boards I could've just went through with a bit of spinning and clutch smell :bananadead::crapstorm:

    Got my winch hooked up yesterday. Going to weld up the bumper attachments tonight, so I don't pull the bumper off the truck with the now functional winch.
    I just realized that winch has been sitting on my bumper for 2 years this month and only really needed it last weekend.
