I bought itm tpms sensors that came programmed with IDs.$112.
It is really easy to add them to ECU if you have a cable and techstream.
Just make sure to write down other IDs..

My mistake, I have only entered the four sensor ID's that I needed each time doing the tire set swap
and entered them into the ECU. Never tried adding a spare tire value

I have a 2019 SR 4X4 dcsb. I bought 4 Autel programmable sensors. Read my original sensor numbers, copied the numbers to the Autel sensors. Installed them in the 2nd set of wheels then installed the wheels on my truck. Truck will not read them. So I have the light on. The numbers are the same on both sets of sensors. The sensors I used and my numbers.

They are about 50 ft away for where the truck is parked.

did you set them to Toyota protocol? 3 things you need to worry about frequency, ID & protocol.

Whats the Toyota protocol? The frequency is 315mhz and id is correct without duplicates.

This is how I done the programming.
Started reading the sensor numbers at the left front wheel, went to the passenger front, passenger rear and last was the drivers rear. Then I removed the autel sensor from the box one at a time, then programmed the first for the left front and installed and labeled the box then continued on just like I read them earlier. When installing in the wheels I kept the sensors in the same position as the original wheels. After installing the 2nd set of wheels with the autel sensors I drove about 15 miles and the light came on. Tried the reset button but light stays on.

What made you decide that the Autel sensors would (might) work?

Didn't write down the sensor IDs so I guess if I go back to my stock wheels I'll just have to go to discount tire and have them program them again.

I was in the city and stopped at a goodrear tire shop and was told that's what they have used.

It looks to me like it should work. I would use the tool to read the sensor ID's on the new and old sensors. Double check to make sure everything is identical between the two sets. I would think that programming the new sensors would activate (trigger) them but maybe you need to do that as a separate step.

Reset button under the dash should not be necessary if you are putting the same sensor ID in the same position but there is a procedure for using it in the owner's manual.

It's possible that those sensors just won't work with these trucks for some reason. You could try contacting Autel and see what they say. I wouldn't be surprised if you got incorrect info from the tire shop considering how many different TPMS systems that they have to sort through although it seems like Autel is trying to simplify it for them.

Please let us know if you get them to work.

Has anyone been able to use the tactrix cable to program tpms? I'd prefer a multipurpose tool and be able to use TIS & reprogramme and flash.

I myself am unfamiliar with the Tractrix cable, but are you trying to trying to program blank "TPMS" sensors or programmed TPMS to the vehicle ECU? My Autel MaxiTPMS TS601 provides everything I need to swap my summer/winter tires with the ECU. It's not a dedicated Toyota tool.

Just clone all 4 existing . We use Napa qwik sensors with a Napa qwik sensor tool. It will read existing and clone programmable sensors.

@Can't Blame The Dog I have the 601 and a second set of wheels, TRD bead locks with OEM sensors. I have not found a way to make the PCM see these sensors with the 601 plugged into the OBDII port. The stock OEM TRDOR alloys are nowhere near the truck.
Would you be able to help me?
    Thanks!

I run a 5 wheel rotation and have to reprogram my tpms every tire rotation. bumping off the wheel that goes to the spare location and adding the spare in. I use Techstream. It's super easy and takes me about 5 minutes. Just buy oem TPMS sensors. I got my 5th on ebay for my spare. Copy down all the ID #'s on the sensors themselves and keep track of it. I wrote down the sensor #'s on the inside of each wheel using a label maker.
