No. That means they are SEARCHING!!!!

    We should celebrate that.

An old thread? Sure, but at least they searched for the answer vs. the elevendy billion "what lift do I need to fit 33's" threads.

    Knowledge, yes.

Remove the ABS pump, ABS bulb from cluster, LSPV, and 1 hardline from the LSPV. Install 2 new non-abs hard line from MC to front brake and adapte an adjustable portportional valve for the rear drum. Braking is so much better!

How would removing the ABS Fuse impact the rest of the breaking system. My light comes on intermittently and really serves no purpose on this 5 speed. I’ve done a break flush 3 months ago and checked all the sensors. I’m waiting for the light to come back on and get a code. I tried to run a diagnostic test with a friends code reader and nothing came up. Suggestions?

Have you inspected your pads and rotors? Does it happen all the time or maybe more often when it's cold or raining?

Removing the fuse is fine, the brakes will work like a non-ABS system, just with longer lines and more fluid due to the extra length in lines.

If you want to control ABS on/off without pulling a fuse, check out my thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/abs-disable-on-the-fly-no-removing-fuses.592588/

It happens once in a blue moon when there is moisture on the road or I am pulling a steep hill. I have inspected my pads and rotors and no dice. I'm thinking about trying to eliminate the problem all together.

I see it happen quite frequently with moisture, cold or pulling long or steep hills like you say. When the ABS light comes on, does it straight say 'ABS' or does it say abs with a circle around it inside parenthesis (just curious)?

Also, I don't think a code will pop up for the ABS light, only the CEL.

If it were me and I knew my brakes were operating correctly and I couldn't stand that light popping up anymore, I wouldn't pull any fuses, I'd probably just pull the light bulb like someone else said.

The ABS light just comes on and turns off after I shut the truck off. It’s knowing that something is turning the light indicator on is whats bothering me.

My 2001 limited DC does not have ABS. So I don't get how some do and some don't.

Since you recently flushed it, I would try giving them another bleed. Maybe there's some air caught in there? Make sure to use a pressure bleeder. Other than that I really don't know that much about diagnosing the ABS light.

Here is what I did with my ABS:

Stops on a dime now. Good luck.
