I’m needing to mount a small fire extinguisher in the truck somewhere, preferably in the cab. Where have others mounted theirs and do you have pics? I have a 97 ext cab and the dog is the only one that uses the backseat. Thanks in advance

I'm not sure on yours, but my AC has that fold up drink holder behind the passenger seat. Was going to see about mounting one under that, it would be pretty protected and out of the way, but accessible if needed.

I’m liking the idea of mounting behind the headrest. Great access and pretty much out of the way

Drake offroad mount in the bed. Didnt want it in the cab incase of an accident, and this also gets me out of the truck in the event of a fire.IMG_20171014_192111809.jpg IMG_20171014_184258243.jpg

I have a doublecab, and mine is just inside the driver side rear door, right between the seat and the door.

I should really get a "Fire Extinguisher Inside" sticker and put it on the door. Any time I'm out with other trucks, I make a point to tell them about it.

Having one go off in the cab I stick away from cheap ones.

I got one from the company that inspects our fire extinguishers it is mounted in front of the passenger seat in a vertical bracket

    gets inspected with the rest.

Here’s how I did mine. Mounted in the shell high up and put a sticker so when the glass is up you see it

I’ve got a camper shell on mine but the tire swing out blocks the rear glass, so that’s just one more step and if I’m pulling a trailer then it’s almost a no go getting back there. I’ll most likely go with the mount on the back of the headrest on the drivers seat, seems like a good out of the way spot but quick accessibility

How exactly did you mount it? I want to do this on my work truck.

I had some L bracket that was for a EXIT sign that's screwed into the frame. I put some velcro straps behind the bracket and when screwed on it sandwiched the straps in place. The extinguisher rests on the bracket like a ledge and the straps hold it in place. Easy and out of the way and with the velcro it's fast to remove

Amerex FTW. They are damn near the same price as the cheapo ones and you get a real extinguisher from one of the industry leaders that is serviceable. Plus they are made in the USA down in Alabama. Got to tour the plant, pretty cool!! I have one in the truck, 1 in the kitchen and one in the garage.
