HELP Supercharger Install 1995.5 Tacoma

    Hey guys im hoping someone can help me with this, i just got a 1st gen (grey) TRD supercharger (for $500) but i know that it wont work on my 95 tacoma without either and ECU swap to a 97' or installing URD 7th injector and tuning? Is that correct? And does anyone have a part number for the correct 97' ecu or have one they would be willing to sell? Thanks!

    You have to get an ECU from a 1997 or I think a 1998.

    If you have a 5 speed 4x4 and no EGR you want 89661-04310
    If you have an EGR 89661-04300 5speed, 4x4

    @1997tacomav6 dumb question but I’m pretty sure I don’t have egr (3.4l wa bought in 95) unless I’m just blind. Where is it normally located? Thanks

    You may need the matching engine harness too. Not 100% sure. But good
    Chance the harness is different from 95 to a 97

    There will be an EGR tube going from the top of the drives side header exhaust to the EGR valve.

    If you don’t see this pipe or a block off plate on top of the drives side exhaust header then u don’t have one

    This it what your looking for before I put headers on
    I have one on the supercharger and the valve is hidden on the back of the supercharger

    @1997tacomav6 Looks like I have the block off plate, since EGR is essentially deleted would i still go with the 89661-04310 for the ECU since there is "no EGR"

    Hard to say, the EGR ECU is much harder to find.

    I’m guessing you would be ok with the 04310,

    This would be a problem if your state was strict on emissions.

    I can’t delete my ERG because my truck would not pass emissions.

    The 04310 you can find for around 200-250

    I mean the EGR delete is the way it came stock when my Dad bought the truck in 1995 and WA isnt too strict on emissions (i mean its been this way for 25 years haha) so i think ill try the 04310. Thanks for all your help!

    I know with Arizona if you update any emissions related items your ok. Going from 95.5 to a 97 would be an update.
