Tried that. I stood on the bumper and jumped up and down while hanging onto the roof rack lol. Nothing.

Tried rocking it back and forth - holding onto the roof with the back passenger door open - do right near the front hangar. Nothing, no noise.

I do notice that when one rear tire hits the bump first before the other, I tend to hear the clunk. Definitely sounds like the passenger rear.

Last thing I want to do is pull the leaf pack to swap bushings. Maybe I can pay Tyler to do it...

Don't have to pull the leaf pack. I just replaced my front main eye bushing by just undoing the bolt and pushing the bolt out...lift the rear end axle up or down by the rear diff and it will release the pressure of the springs against the frame, and you can push the old bushing out and push the new one in. Same with the shackle side

actually @Area51Runner here's a more exact breakdown of how I did it -

1.) lift rear of truck up and put the rear on jack stands (on frame)

2.) undo main eye bolt, push out bolt

3.) lower the rear diff down via floor jack until main eye clears the mounting location...press out old bushing, put new bushing in

4.) lift rear axle up until main eye and new bushing lines back up with mounting point, put in new bolt

    5.) profit

You'll likely need to use a pry bar to help push down on the main eye to help it clear a bit more but it's not hard

Shackle side is even easier because the shackle rotates to help line it up, only took me maybe an hour all together and that's including getting all my tools out and put back away.

I have a hard time believing it's the leaf bushings but you should be able to figure it out.

Jack the truck up so the rear tire is 1/4-1/2" off the ground, stick a prybar under it, and see if you can recreate it and narrow down from there

Removing the poly bushings isn't going to be an issue but putting in the oe style bushing I imagine is going to involve the press.

Have you greased the slip join in the rear CV? Mark the two halves and take it apart, manually grease the splines.

yeah I was wondering about that too, but if you use Blue92s method with the c-clamp and socket you should have enough room to do that without taking the springs off, at least I would think

worst case you could try it, if it doesn't work then just go ahead and pull the springs as you'll be 1/3 of the way there already lol

that's what I did a few weeks ago, it solved my rear end driveshaft PING for about 2 weeks lol. It's back now

It did get rid of the harsh driveline clunk going from 1st to 2nd gear under high RPM though

Nope. I do get that clunk (not the same as what I'm hearing) when shifting into reverse on occasion. Needs to be done.

Went to Sonic since it's been awhile that we've had it.

I can't believe I flirted my way to a free meal for my co worker and I

I come back and give him his $20 bucks and he's like "huh? It was my turn today"

"I wouldn't lie to you for $20 bucks but I talked her up and next thing you know she said don't worry about your meal"

Yeah I remember you working on something the other day; getting rid of that drive line clunk?

    What'd you do.

Kind of experience it from time to time during stop and go.

Can a base model 2004 taco pull a trailer and a car? Or is it too heavy
