Ok I don't know how I missed the house sky high. Holy cribbing craziness. Now did you have a contractor doing the work or is it your project?

Ha! Fucking crazy right? We're done now. Moved in last April. I had Expert House Movers jack her up for me. They're the ones that moved the Hatteras Light House. For real, it's just steel, hydraulic jacks, cribbing, and a fuck load of liability.

Oh I know how it works and been in a project that we did that. Just never seen one go that high. Pretty sweet. I'm an advocate for keeping the old and just bringing those buildings into the future without loosing their character.

Me too, man. A big motivator for my wife and myself was saving something old that deserved to have a little love shown to it. Instead of being torn down and building some bullshit rancher in its place. Now I have a 140 year old home and all the intricate joinery, handmade cut nails made out of real steel, hardwood sills, studs, and rafters, etc. that comes with that. Along with things like a brand new foundation, all brand new systems, HVAC, electrical and plumbing, insulation etc. All for the less than the price of some cookie-cutter spec home on the same amount of land. I mean, don't get me wrong. It was an IMMENSE amount of work, stress, creative financing, etc. But for us, it was worth it.

Oh and about how high we went. Haha. The guy that lifted it was like, "How high you wanna go?" I said "How high can we go? I'd like to get a mini-excavator under it to be able to dig my footings." He said "Buddy, the hard part is getting it off of the ground, how high is just a matter of how many 6"x6"'s I have, and I've got a shitload of 6"x6"'s.":rofl::rofl:

Now that's someone that is very confident in his work to not have it come topling down!
These new nice "cookie cutter" pop up development homes that people swoon over because you get all these amenities for 80 something a sqft. are only built for a 20 yr life span. It's pretty friggin' sad. They are junk. I hate that people think that they are quality. It's about the bones and what's beneath the lipstick that makes a house worth something not the granite, hardwoods, etc.

Rant over sorry. But when ya do this shit for a living it's irritating.

Well, well, well look who the cat drug out of the PNW fog! What's up man, getting settled into your new surroundings? Leafs are great! I honestly couldn't be happier. I mean, if the time ever comes where I need to put like 20 lbs in the bed, I'll need to upgrade.....hahahaha. They are pure flex. But for me and my empty bed they are perfect! Thanks man, it was a bunch of work. Like, 15 months.
