I’ve got Bilstein 5100’s set at 0 and OME 2887 coils up front. 5100’s in the rear with Headstrong 3-leaf AAL in the rear. Gave me about 2” up front and 2 1/2” in the back. Raptor lights are from Runnin4Tacos, it’s their smoked white light set.

I have an automatic. A must for Miami traffic. Thank you for the advice and that is why I hate going to the dealership. So many stories lol.

that was my mission when i got the truck Dec'16 and it was a dog. started with a pedal commander and sold that after OV came up with Alpha files for the MT trucks.

    - if you're in a AT truck it can be improved over stock but not great, real responsiveness comes in the MTs.
    - MT trucks are dogs, too, until you wake up the motor's tune and open its exhaust. but that is a lot of work, not cheap, and still not complete.

just to give you an idea, for me getting this truck to be sharp and responsive, which it totally is now, took:

    - complete replacement of all exhaust including rear cat and crush pipe removal
    - using all open-flow non-media filled exhaust components. race muffler, etc
    - running OVT 2.0 beta file on 93oct for catless dump tubes. even running the latest and greatest non-beta file or a 91oct file fails this test. gotta go all out for great response.

i have 93oct access, run 30" E tires, and have relearned to drive to get this motor & truck combo happy. it's game-on now. but took 3 years, lots of trial & error, and several grand to figure out. the truck is amazing now, but not sure this work is for everyone. it damn sure is for me, though.

if in DFW come and check it out.

Supposedly the reflash is supposed to eliminate the studder on acceleration in the automatics so this may definitely be to your advantage. I believe there are three different TSB's that may address this. Somewhere here there is an almost complete list of TSB's but I don't recall exactly where it is.
Maybe we can get some support from other members regarding this.
    Little help here folks?

i don't follow the AT stuff but still this will either require some research or a helpful service advisor. I'd go for the service advisor is there's a decent dealership in Miami for you @Profounddiver

Wow. I have a TRD Pro and I've wondered how good the exhaust really is. I am trying not to go too crazy on the truck since I am trying to finish another project I have at home. But its pretty bad that you have to go through all that just to get a little more pep out of the truck. Supercharging is always an option LOL. I will definitely look up those options that you provided.
    Thank you.

Here are a few pics of the "project."

After the TSB to update the ECU my Taco drove like a totally different truck. Note, I do find driving it like a standard eliminates the sluggishness you would experience when attempting to accelerate quickly. Like the Ikea ad say, "drive it like you stole it" .

I bought this very useful obd2 scanner. Can read many different parameters. The 0 to 60 was a fun test ( 2 people in the truck and loaded with about an extra 150 to 200 pounds). You can also do 60 to 0 stop test etc. I needed this for one of my other vehicles and then I tested it on the Tacoma. It also has data logging which is a plus.
