It’s very stiff in my opinion. Probably just needs some weight in the back.

887's with Bilstein 5100s on the bottom setting. Wheeler's progressive add a leaf in the rear. I did the 1/4" driver side spacer too. 30 some thousand miles later and I still love it, love it love it! Happy to show it off too.

I have 887 and ended up sagging overtime(went from 2” to 1.25” of lift). I read somewhere OME changed up their quality standards and don’t hold true to their measurements anymore.
Don’t risk not getting the lift you want and stay away from OME coils.
The price tag of the OME coils and struts are appealing, but the bilstein 6112 are not much more and are adjustable if you ever decide on going to bigger tires.

Great looking Method NV wheels but those LONG center caps gotta go. Meso Customs offers center caps for these wheels...

To many people have bad experiences with OME sag to consider using them. I would look at Eibach or Dobinsons springs.

Thanks, everyone, for sharing your advice, pics, & experiences. I thought it might make my decision easier, but it hasn’t.

I was initially attracted to the OME springs because I had heard they offer a softer, more factory-like, ride. I really want to avoid a harsh and jarring ride. However, I’m now concerned that the “softness” of their springs could lead to excessive settling/sagging that some have reported experiencing.

I’d hate to drop the coin on 887 springs, hoping to get 2” of lift, only to wind up with an 1.25” after settling. That’s an expensive 1.25”.

At that point I’d be better off just going with Headstrong’s top-plate spacer that gives a 1” lift and leave everything else alone, maintain factory ride and have fewer possible issues to deal with.

Has Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road provided any insight to the OME coils? Maybe she knows something. I’m definitely at the point where I need to call. Frustration and over-analysis is setting in.

Thank you all! Please, keep the pics & advice coming.

Look at eibach pro springs. I just got in a pair for $150 shipped on Bilsteinlifts.com that I will be installing on 5100s this weekend. Should provide about 2" of lift and I have not heard any reports of sagging.

Thank you! I’ll definitely do that! Glad to hear that there aren’t any reports of sagging. What’s the general consensus on ride quality with the Eibach coils?

Here is the main thread for the entire Eibach Pro Lift:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/eibach-pro-lift-kit.545060/page-93#post-22808313

You can just buy the springs from this kit and use them with 5100s, which is what I will be doing. Here is where I ordered my springs from. There are few discount codes out there too that might take a couple bucks off:

Yeah, I would recommend calling Headstrong for the latest information. 887's are made for no front bumper and no winch. So adding sliders or any weight is going to lower the springs height. Some of the "sagging" may be the result of adding weight to the truck?

285/70/17 tires above so a 265 tire might give you more appearance of gap from fender liner to the top of the tire.

    When I had 265/70/17 tires.

That’s really sharp. How much lift did the 887s give you after settling?

It seems to vary depending on the time of day when measuring. If you measure first thing in the morning it's just under 2 inches, drive it around a bit to flex the suspension and it's just over 2 inches.

Either way I dont care where it's at, I like how it looks and performs especially with the larger tires.

I also have SPC UCAs to get better alignments and the truck just seems to respond better with them. I wouldnt lift beyond 2 inches without upgrading the UCAs.

Man, this whole process is driving me nuts. Just when I think I have my mind made up, I read something that makes me start to doubt my decisions. I’m worried that the Eibach kit will be too stiff & that the OME springs will sag too much when they settle.

I was looking at the Bilstein 6112 kit, but isn’t that pre-loading a coil??? I was avoiding 5100s with my stock coils for that same reason. I thought I read pre-loading coils, to achieve lift, gives a harsh ride. Also, I’ve seen some ugly pics of the Bilsteins corroding badly. I live in central PA where they put nasty stuff on the roads, so this is a real concern for me.

I’ve looked at some fancier kits, but not sure I want to deal with coil-overs that need to be rebuilt on a more frequent basis. That sounds like a real pain for a daily driver. Maybe I’m just misinformed? Is a simple, problem-free, soft-riding 2” lift too much to ask for? :angrygirl:

For what it’s worth, I had the ome 887 and bilstein 5100 setup on my 2017 Tacoma with an aal in the rear and thought it was pretty stiff. It handled well and looked great, but it was stiffer than what I expected. But it wasn’t so stiff that I didn’t like it. On the other hand, I just put the eibach pro kit on my wife’s 4Runner and that thing feels stock. It’s awesome. No nose dive when braking or roll in turns. Soaks up little and big bumps. I was super surprised once I got it on and took it for a drive. That’s going to be my choice when I decide to lift my 2020.
