100k miles service?

I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma with 102000 miles. I'm going to change the oil tomorrow. What else needs to be done? Thanks.

Is doing spark plugs myself on a second gen hard? Do I just take off the coil packs and then replace the plugs then reconnect the coil packs?

 

Yes there should be some threads on here but it’s an easy job. If you have a 4.0 it’s due every 30k for spark plugs.

Edit to add: Just use Denso or ngk copper plugs on the 4.0(not sure about the 2.7). And check your gap before you install.

 

I do my plugs every 50K, they normally look fine. But I do have some seizing issues, so thats the big reason I do it every 50. Easy job, unplug coil, 10mm bolt, coil comes out. R and R plug. Seems to me, some thing of the driver's side has to move, PVC line or something (it's easy). 4 O engine here.

I flush the tran at 80K then again at 200K. Went longer as I don't use it to tow anymore.

 

If you have a manual trans a drain and fill is recommended every 60k as well as the rear diff(also front diff and t case if you’re 4wd)

 

Do what the manual suggests. If unsure of when last fluid/spark changes were, then do a full sweep starting with Oil.

Yeah manual has most of it. But if you’re looking for things to do....

check all rubber- serpentine belt, hoses, suspension bushings, cv boots, your spare tire etc,
Replace, coolant, brake fluid, ps fluid, diff gear oil, check trans fluid, maybe a drain/ refill
Have a look at that air filter and cabin filter
Make sure suspension and driveline bolts are torqued and zerks are greased
Make sure your rear diff breather is clear and not caked in rust or mud
Front wheel bearings might be about to start going at that point.
Shocks?
Pcv valve?
MAF sensor?
Check bed bolts are tight
Spark plugs as mentioned


have a good look at your frame, you’re past the replacement window but it’s still a good idea to know what’s going on under there, and if nothings ever been done consider coating it in fluid film or something

there’s a whole host of things you could do to be proactive at that age and mileage, a small list of things that you really should do.

 

If you own a 2006 2.7l like me you want to keep an eye on your plastic water bypass pipe and maybe be proactive by replacing it early, before it starts leaking.

I would agree...if you don't know fix it! One of the most forgot items to change out is the PCV valve...so if you're doing sparkplugs do the PCV valve.
Make a day of it and get to know your truck I say....
