I have aftermarket wheels and rims. No lift. I want to get spacers to give the truck a wider look.

you'll get mixed responses but make sure they are torqued down. Drop some loc tight on them and retorque them every time you rotate tires. I had them for a bit never had issues. Most of the guys running LT or shock relocates have spacers at least in the rear and mob them. Just buy good spacers. Spidertrax, bora and you should be good. I have buddies running Amazon specials and are fine but if I add them again I am going to use high quality ones. Cheap investment if you are going to use them.

The more the wheels and tires stick out the more trimming that's required - if your tires are that big.

break out the saw!!!! @mkon334 what rims do you have now and how far out are you looking to set it up? If you want a bit may even be better to swap rims. I had ray10 -10 4.3 BS then ran them with 1" spacers due to my LCA and bypass. Recently swapped to ray10 -38 3.5 BS setup. I have some big tires on there but have seem smaller tires. Mostly are still lifted so your tires size will be limited. If you have a skinnier 265 you may not have much issues in the rub dept.

From a physics perspective you are forcing your wheels outward farther away from the hub. Just from a math perspective, it's not wise.

Buy a wheel that has the backspacing/width you want.

Also verify in your state it's actually legal for you to have tires outside your fender flares.
And be advised, you will care harm to your paint job by having wider wheels than your flares.
