What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

man I’m jealous! I tried to mount mine this weekend with my bumper but ran into a problem with my coolant/water-pump. I’m off all week though so something is going to give!

Dude this is awesome! I’m a huge fan of my Non-JBL HU because of the complete lack of issues it has given me over the years. This however is one of the things I wish I could do. I like it man.

Installed my @SouthernStyleOffRoad slimline hybrid but ran into an issue and couldn’t mount my winch with it. Have to relocate my SuperCharger coolant pump. I was unusually sad because of the issue and the wife just doesn’t understand lol! Off all week though so it’s going to get figured out!

That's an easy fix. Remove supercharger and all associated parts/accessories and ship it to me!

 

Where did you get replacement headlights from? I have my stock ones that have already been replaced by Toyota due to a recall but they KEEP getting moisture in them. I have dried them out a few times and it just keeps coming back so im ready just to but some aftermarket but wanting to keep the stock look. Just up in the air on which ones to get bc a lot of reviews I have read said they have gotten moisture with aftermarkets.

 

So I got my frame recall notice a few months ago and I am going back and forth on if I should take it in. Do I take it now and have them clean it up and put rust protectant on it? Or do I wait until close to the end to ensure I will get a new frame? I am afraid the sealer they put on it will only make my frame last long enough that they do not have to replace it in the long run. Anyone care to share an opinion?


Went and checked out my brothers new property. 1/2 mile drive way that I think he should leave rutted up to keep people out. LoL

 

My opinion on your brothers property. I agree with you and leave it rutted up like you say 2000%

 

Need more info on the condition of your frame, is it close to failing, visible holes rusted through? My Brother-in-law just go screwed on a frame replacement because the dealership under coated everything about a year ago, making it impossible to tell how bad the frame really is. He has an area where the leaf spring mount is that is rusted through, still failed for replacement. Now he has to get it welded. I wouldn't let them under coat it, if you can.

Stubby antenna. Was skeptical, but I actually really like this look and all my favorite radio stations pick up just as good as before.

 

They apparently aren’t using the black garbage they were for the 05-11 frames. They are mostly hitting the sandwiched sections of frame with a white/yellow wax-like petroleum based product.

But I’m not sure how your buddies frame didn’t get replaced unless the hole wasn’t bigger than a dime.

 

It's not bad at all right now. Just surface/flash rust in areas. I haven't been to a dealer since the day I brought my Taco home, so they have no history to go off of. What happened to your brother is exactly what I am trying to avoid. Thanks for the feedback!

Not bad at all. I watched my buddy mainly do it but i could have easily done it. Bolt that holds the mounts on slides right out and you just need to jack up the body so you can fit the new mounts in. The driver side is a good bit harder for some reason than the passenger. Took us like 15 min for the driver and like 7 for the passenger side. pretty simple.

 

Well that sounds do-able..... did you do just the front or did you do all of them?

 

Yea just the fronts for now, but i will do all of them eventually lol.
