The list is actually shocking and a good representation of how shitty the QA at TOYOTA USA is now that they are producing them here instead of Japan.

I am taking my Toyo in tomorrow for the rear harsh suspension ride/noises, windshield noise and tranny/clutch noises. I feel these 4 are the most important to me since my warranty expires on the 27th of this month. The rest is just peanuts.

I am really pissed with Toyota and the local dealer. The dealer played stupid when I asked about TSBs. One of the salesmen came up to me when I was inspecting their new TACOS and even was dumb enough to give me his card. I tossed it back to him as I told him I was there to get service on my 2007 that just came back from overseas. The feds should make them do a recall for shitty work.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I have a 2010 with 2,000 miles on it. And my front seat squeaks like crazy. Can this TSB still be done?

Bumper to bumper warranty for 36 months or 36,000 miles. Of course you can and should. The problem will be to have the dealer duplicate it.

I finally got the squeaky A/C blower motor replaced under a TSB yesterday. It took 3 trips and waiting until the outside temp was below 60 degrees for them to duplicate it.

I got the dealer to order the parts for the rear suspension issue. That was early last week and they have not called me as of yet. Guess I'ma have to call them on Monday.

Also, I have a 2010 PreRunner with a dent (outward) in the middle of the tailgate. Does the weak tailgate TSB apply?

    TYIA for any input.

I just called my dealer and asked them about the rear TSB. After about 10 minutes he said yes, then told me I have an extended warranty and there might be a deductible. Told me that they would let me know what that was when I brin it in. just thinking how much can they charge for something so simple?

I suppose I should let them do the recall on the gas pedal while I am there as well.

Anyone have a problem with the temp controls? everytime I move the temp I hear a loud squeak noise, almost like I have mice living in my dash.

It's the blower motor. They all do it eventually (My '10 started way sooner and worse than my 08 did, and I got the 08 replaced only to have it start again).

The only real potential known fix is here http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/28355-blower-motor-squeek-chirp-low-fix.html

Whaaat? Provided you are in warranty, TSBs are done for free and the shop is reimbursed by corporate. Sounds like the guy is double dipping on you.

The trim isn't noticeable. The big benefit is that they do a computer reflash so your shift points are improved. If you have ever coasted down to ~10-20mph and then given a bit of gas, you may notice the engine surges. The reflash will calm that down.

I disagree.. it's very noticeable. In fact, my foot actually slips off the damn thing now. I'm going to be swapping the pedal out soon either with a stock original or brushed aluminum or something.

On longer runs, yes all the time. I like to try and move my ankle around a bit as it gets stiff... now it slips off when I do it... :/

Yeah I think I might have short legs and longer torso, or I just sit closer than you. I have most of the pedal covered with my foot still. I also have size 13's that need to fit down there!

They told me the same crap at my dealer, that my vin was not included 2010 manf 6/10). So I called Toyota southeast and opened a case and complaint about the harsh ride, bottoming out, and riding like a minivan when loaded and they did the TSB on my truck, very quick after I opened a case, the dealer call me the next day and told that toyota approved the TSB and needed to come by so they can tell me that the TSB is not reversible and that once done that is the way the truck will stay. it took some persistence, but they did it.

don't deal with the dealer until u have a case #. Toyota will call the dealer to give approval for the TSB. good luck

yea, believe it or not your dealer lied to you. They did not get 'approval' from Toyota. The TSB would show you that your 'VIN' is included.....unless something has changed recently I'm unaware of.

.........in the last 2 years plus I've said it a million times and I will say it again, all you must do is go in and firmly and politely say, "i'm experiencing a harsh ride" and show them the TSB where you meet all the requirements and wait for them to get done with their temper tantram that you are smarter and more researched than they are about their own product and then they will do it. Make sure you are in front of the service manager too.

My service writer and service manager that I've got to know well just did the TSB for another member on here a few weeks ago. I helped him through the process because he was getting screwed around and when I talked to my service writer he said, "now the Tacoma owner that's going to come in knows what to say when he comes in, right?" hinting that he must say he is experiencing a harsh ride.......this amazed me because these words, "harsh ride" are magical and force their hand.

Calling corporate just shows the dealer you are serious. They don't want to tell an unhappy customer asking for the originals put back on after they have the new springs that it will now cost you $2000 to get your old springs back on, or whatever the outrageuos cost is.......

You should be able to take it to any Toyota dealership. Beware that if you aren't satisfied with the warranty/TSB work you may not be able to go to another dealership to have the same problem worked on.

I've been told that the service dept is most dealer's main money maker whether it is warranty work or not. Just be sure they can duplicate the problem or else it is just a waste of time.

For me my '10 DB 4x4 had radio issues, wouldn't switch to satellite, just an hour after driving off the lot. Made a u-turn and inquired about fixing it. Waited for 1hr for them to diagnose it, but it never displayed the issue for them. Got back in my truck to go home and the satellite radio stopped working. Kept the truck running and grab the service manager and show it to him. An hour later my radio was switched and I was on my way.

Lean on them but be civil, have proof of the issue( if possible) and they should take care of you. If not, talk to their customer service manager and contact their west coast office here http://www.toyota.com/help/contactus.html

It sounds like a lot of work, but if your stance on the issue is solid and a reasonable solution is available. There is no reason for them to not accommodate your request.

    Good luck
