I thought @wahoobie meant swapping a manual into our trucks. I wish it was an affordable and straight forward swap. I’d have a MT DCLB OR in less that 30 days

He did. While it's possible, taking a loss on trade in would be cheaper.

Stock gears and 33s are probably more common than all the higher gear/tire combos combined.

    Who is We?
I have already read what was posted in the last few pages.
My question was directed @OVTune . I don't want to assume.

I also read the speculations on having to idle for X amount of minutes right after a flash.
Mat debunked that speculation already and said you don't need to idle for minutes right after a flash.
It is something that has been recommended to some with a unique set of circumstances.
That being said, it doesn't not hurt to idle after a flash (Engine Warmed or Cold Start).

I asked that question, thinking the answer will likely be yes.
But I am not 100% sure. Are you?

@OVTune do you need any more testers for 5.29 files?

    I got 5.29s on 33s with 04B04

This is just some info from the MT Information.

    I can hear pinging
You should flash the tune that closely matches what octane you have in the tank.
If you have 85 octane and flash the premium version tune,
there will be some pinging until octane learning has been performed.
    How to update:
    Available File Versions:
    2.0 Regular Octane Learning
This is the base version 2.0, for regular fuel 85 to 89 octane
    2.0 Premium Octane Learning
This is the premium version of the base tune 90 to 94 octane

And I am not ready to take that loss... Just yet. Especially considering I need to add ANOTHER ride to the stable, so she has a winter/foul weather car.

However, if this tune doesnt do the trick..
I have SERIOUS concerns regarding long term reliability of this transmission.

@OVTune - I feel like I need to catch up on all this :D. I have had the OV tune for a while now (Dec. 2018) and still cant seem to get it just right to help with the shifting. Do I need to perform another update? I installed it while the truck was stock and then again after the truck was modified and the dealership messed with it causing it to shift poorly. Anyway, long story short, it seems like the truck is still gear searching and doesn't stay consistent. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most of us are in the same boat.
    Just hang on for 2.0
Should solve all the shifting woes(I hope).
    Inconsistent, hunting, etc.

Excellent question. I don’t believe that anyone else has asked it as precisely as you, but it is the number one question on my mind.

Mat, if you are reading this, can you please give us a short, precise answer?

    Thanks................. Frank

Great question! Knowing about this now we can prepare for 2.0. We can change octane now and not have a mixed tank of low and high octane when time to flash.

He said you can run 87 on the prem tune and it will adjust but your performance won't be as good.

Yes. 100% sure. "We" answered it with direct quotes from Mat. Both from his blog and from here, two pages back like I said.
