35x10.50x17 Kenda Klever R/T Kr601 Thread *SKINNY 35s*

Well, time to start a thread about these tall & skinny 35’s! If you run these tires or have any questions, please drop a reply!

These are Kenda Klever R/T Kr601’s in a 35x10.50x17.

Why consider skinny 35’s? Skinny tires offer a bigger footprint when aired down, more direct driving experience, and easier to fit than wider tires.

500-mile Review: For $130 a tire, I am blown away at how these handle on-road and off-road. On-road, they're quiet, soft, sexy (the sidewalls are beautiful...), and offer great wet and dry traction. I have been in rain, snow, and dirt comfortable. For comparison, my last set of tires were KO2's and I avoided driving in snowy conditions because of how many times I've had them kick out. Off-road, these tires are beyond amazing. Once aired down around 12-15, they offer the footprint of a 12.5" wide tire. Dirt and mud have been tested and no issues there. The hybrid style of the tire really helps with muddy conditions. Very happy with them.

I was on that thread before but decided to make a new one which I’ll post videos on the tires, updates in different weather conditions, etc.

 

Cool. Let us know when you get them on. I’m curious about the road noise since I do a lot of highway driving. I’m actually looking at the 33” flavor.

There are few interesting things on Kenda's web site for these tires. The 35" is listed as a load range "D" and the 33" is an "E" but yet they both weigh the same and have the same load capacity at 3195lbs. They also list "F" load range tires?.

Whomever gets these 35x10.5 Kever RT tires mounted, I wanna know the real world measurements of overall width and height please. When mounted (specify rim width), how wide is the tire overall (measure straight edge to ground with tire on its side)? How tall is it (measured with straightedge to ground tire standing up but not installed on the truck)?

I am finding there is a WILD difference from reality to advertised, both in width and height, even when on the same rim size as advertised for all manufacturers. BFG seems the worst at this BTW.

I'll be glad to get the specs to you, but it's going to vary quite a bit. They don't run a full 35", but they're definitely taller than my 315/75/16's.

 

Unmounted height spec. 17x8.5” rim, 37 PSI.

Finally got them mounted up!

Initial Impressions: Very quiet tire that offers a smooth ride quality. Being a D-load, these tires ride softer than my previous E-loads. I also noticed they chalk tested at around 33psi cold, and the lower pressure aids with the smoother ride. They handle better than 315s/12.50’s with quicker steering feel, but this is subjective. Overall, I am extremely impressed with them.

100 mile review: Still impressed, will update at 1,000 miles. Arguably my favorite tire I’ve ever owned.

Thanks for your initial thoughts on the tire. Curious about your setup. What suspension/lift etc do you have and how much work had you already done to not have any rubbing? I’m on the fence between the 33 and 35.
