What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Did a drain and fill (2nd one this month) on my 3.4L w/auto trans.

Adjusted the position of the drivers side window crank. It was right where my left knee wanted to be. Best technique for removing the retainer clip. See-saw a shop towel. Pops them right off.

 

Great trick, works super easy and fast with elastic strips like your underwear waist band. I keep one in the toolbox and it always garners a question.

Yea @Uphillshunter had a similar issue, but because he had manual hubs that problem seemed to be linked to the nut on the backside of the spindle not tightening down all the way

 

Spring cleaning and de-salted again, then went for a nice drive. Doing painting on the topper, so running around topless.

Not to harsh your buzz but my bud has these exact ones and there are some issues:
1. the LEDs go out
2. the seal isn't the best and lets water in

He is a little rough on his truck so there is that.

But there is light at the end of the mod tunnel -> see what I did there?

 

I pumped gas in my truck today. Drove around and enjoyed the day.

 

Its more than a dollar less per gallon here in tx

 

Gas is cheaper in California than Utah, dafuq

 

Cheaper here too, I paid 2.42 for premium today and regular was only 2.16

 

Regular here in Logan is 2.35ish I believe, in Salt Lake it’s like 2.10, in Vernal it’s 2.45ish, cause you know, we produce the crude so we might as well pay for it too

Being quarantined has given me so much time for activities ! Just replaced my inner and outer tie rods , old inners were loose and as limp as an 80 year old mans Johnson

 

On my 2000 SR5, I fixed the sticky driver window switch by taking it apart and cleaning the copper contacts, but be careful with the window look button the retainer spring pops out stupid easy. It works like it's brand new and interesting to see the internals and how the auto down vs manual switch are so different and why they feel different.

 

A momentous day indeed for ol' Trudy, got them Sport bucket seats installed today..

They are super comfy and provide some nice side bolstering in the spirited curves, and I love the look and feel of pure oem Tacoma seat goodness in my vintage 5 lug!


It's looking the way 2002 should have looked in here now, and more comfortable than the factory ever envisioned for the 2wd rcsb!!


Trudy just keeps on getting nicer and sure is a blast to drive - super comfy seats, and handles better than ever with the wheels and tires and oh yeah, I slapped in some Bilstein shocks on Friday too!


Here she is.. her gorgeous body glistening in the sunshine today on my maiden run with my new old seats!!
