I did confirm with tech stream that the speedo calibrator (hypertech) does not affect what the ECU sees. Did a few test runs with tech stream.

That's because those parameters aren't controlled by the ecu. Which is why OVTune doesn't fix them.

Yes, that’s correct. The calibrator manipulates the signal between the ecu and the gauge cluster.

I just got a scan gauge and have mpg and an accurate mph readout as well as transmission temp and other info. Since there’s no hyper tech or any product to correct the mph on the oem cluster for that matter for a 2019.

    @OVTune

hey giving a few mile update on the recent release. It took like 100+ miles for the trans to acclimate what seemed to be a heavy torque situation at light throttle between shifts. Felt like a slip lurch thing with a chunky shift but it’s gone now. Basically it felt like there was no “unload” between shifts. Some cars pull timing etc. but other that that this thing is great!
    BUUUUUUT.

unless I missed something. I don’t have gear lock no matter what I do. It just down shifts.

If I remember right there’s a spot in there to add correction so you’d add like 3% or whatever the number is for your tire and it’ll adjust what it displays.

    Which ECU?

Have you guys actually looked in the SM to see how these circuits work?

You have to read and interpret the info in there carefully. It may not work the way you think it does.

Exactly. in my case the difference in tire circumference was i believe 7.5%. I set it to 7% and verified with a gps speedo app and that seems to be the sweet spot.

Is OVTune being developed for the 2020 tacomas? I thought I saw some links on their site, but its a difficult site to navigate. There was only links for an AT, but I have a MT. Would like to get tuned up! Thanks

Or you could log onto the Hypertech website and read their description for your year and model..... explains the product pretty well. IMO.....referring to speedometer accuracy.

I know this is off topic, but if you’re doing the hyper tech, leave the usb cable connected and run it to a spot you can still hook your laptop up to.

I’ve been trying to load the newest 2.0Beta for my 2019 AT for the last couple hours. I keep getting this error. Can someone please help?
    BF8AB56B-7553-43A9-B3B3-DF5E563C7AD6.jpg

EDIT: I figured it out. I didn’t click on “Install OVTUNE Cable Drivers”. That was giving me the error. Thanks to anyone that was already trying to help.

    I just installed -
    2019/04B30-AT/2.0/Prem/Beta.
Is this the latest and greatest Beta for 2019?

I’ll report back in a few days or so after I get some mileage on it.

I can't get past when I hit p5 flash utility. It shows my name and system ID but has all tabs grayed out. I can't click flash it or identify. It sent me to a 3rd party Russian site and I had to download the flash utility there. I was able to get my calibration ID so I could download the correct tune, but like I said it doesn't give me an option to flash it. Just to be clear I have a clear dongle and a USB that came with it.

Just for terminology, the USB device is your dongle. Small or large. The OBD device is your adapter.

so you bought this second hand from another owner? If so you need to contact OVTune and get a license. Just saying since you show 2019 and mention a dongle and usb ? FYI Dongle are pcm.

Yeah I bought a license. But it says no instances available or something. Seems to be dead.
