With the flares removed I was able to ✂️ 1” following the factory fender line giving me enough clearance to remove the extra leaf I installed. Frame is right at 21” with the 37s

Started on rear link brackets for the axle side, thinking with the stimulus check coming I might as well put that towards coilovers and air bumps

This is arguably the best 1st gen SAS build on TW.
The notched front frame to keep the height down to a reasonable level makes me thing this is possible.
Now how to do it with a 3.4L V6 in there....

People have been doing that for years. When I built my truck it sits only 2" higher SAS on 37s with leafs and a 3.4 than it was IFS on 33s. In retrospect I would have built it higher because it gets beached pretty easily.

Been following this build, nice fab work and nice to see another actual build thread on here!

I figured out to keep it low the notch had to be there after i built this one a couple yrs ago, shouldn’t be any issues if you have a 3.4

    A few bolts are different.
Incredible work. The frame height on 37’s is baller.

Awesome work. Your trucks look like they're A LOT of fun!

Would you ever consider doing a v8 swap for your double cab.. or adding a turbo? Not sure if true, but I'm feeling like that v6 is being pushed to its limits with those big wheels + potential cargo.

On another note.. one of my dreams is to build a truck like this and take it all the way to the Darien Gap like this guy.. especially in the area where I've linked this video ->
