    For the 'plug & play' dash cam install, by 'Flipnidaho', using the Garmin mini cam, regarding the curent availability of this connector. I received this email yesterday from Kevin, note the bolded caution statements ...

    Glad to see a Taco World member on here. I love those things. I'm completely out of stock due to coronavirus issues impacting my supply chain in China (I'm based out of California though). I won't have any in-stock until early April, at the earliest.

    Please note I'm designing the unit with an improved USB module ... if any happen to pop-up on Amazon before then, don't purchase it as Amazon takes the liberty of restocking returned inventory (3rd party sellers have no control over this) and I'd hate for my customers to get anything but the new unit.

    I picked one up on Amazon yesterday because I saw it in stock, then came to post on the forums but it was out of stock already. Sounds like that means I'm getting a returned unit :(

    Edit: hmm checked my order and it says "Arriving Sun, Apr 19 by 8pm". Wonder if that means new or old unit.

    Edit 3/17: today the delivery date changed to 3/27

    Edit 3/24: showed up today, looks like open box, guessing it was a return, ill keep an eye on the heat

    I think they did come back in stock briefly again; I have a camelcamelcamel alert set up for it and got an alert a week or so ago. Didn't buy at the time yet though because I'm not sure how (or if there will be) a way to tell the new ones apart that supposedly have the fix so they won't overheat so much. Since I don't need it for a while, figured I'd wait to buy one until I'm pretty sure only new style ones are shipping out and not returns/refurbs/old stock.

    See above. There were some issues with some overheating I think. If yours is running fine then hopefully yours isn't affected.
