    I appreciate the input.

Did you do the restrictor jet mod and the fuel pressure regulator mod?

FPR yes.....because of my specific tune and mods. The restrictive jet no.....I did for about a week but saw no difference so I put it back in.

Here is the size of the OE fuel pump. Smaller in height than the greenie stock NA fuel injectors.. these things are absolute junk.

You really want that driving your supercharger @GZeus24 ?

I know you aren't all about the big mods and I can appreciate that a lot actually, definitely respect it.. but this is one mod you should not skimp out on. You short change yourself, and you are short changing the life expectancy of your fuel system (injector failure) or worse.. valves.. or even the engine assembly itself.

This is why I preach fuel pumps on this thread all day long when someone asks if they should do it. Some on here will say will say do not do it, but after experiencing failure on my own unit out of the thin blue nowhere leaving me stranded and dealing with this particular Tacoma which took the injectors with it (both NA vehicles, mine was at the time of failure mind you) why roll the dice?

I run a 2.3 pulley and big power adders now, but I have the 100% confidence that my fuel system will always be up to the task no matter how much boost I'm pushing at that particular throttle instance.

Yeah but look at the girth on that fuel pump next to your little greenie

Girth don't mean shit. Let's be real here. You can only cram so much worth of quality into something of that dimensional size.

I wish I had my AEM pump to compare in size dimensions in comparison to the OE fuel pump. The thing absolutely towers over it and is much girthier as well. Like, you can see why the units are doomed to fail.

Dude I shit you not I bought two brand new Denso fuel pump replacements for this truck because the first replacement failed right out of the box. Come to find out the second one is defective as well. Both had 8 psi output right out of the box. o_O

@TRON I didn't see that this question was answered. I am in search of better inner boots. The two I've seen that are aftermarket and discussed are the red silicon ones, that either come with the adapter to fit the tripod joint, or require the OEM boot be used as a mating surface. Which boot do you have?

Bought an aisin water pump off Amazon. Looks like they ground the Toyota logo off. Thanks half price water pump. So if anyone needs one. Don’t buy factory. EE89496E-533C-42E2-8048-1845EA2D9729.jpg4F0CD7F2-12A4-4635-8CA9-20C79068D879.jpg

I used multi purpose adhesive from 3m. The problem is they get covered with oil mist and then you have to remove a lot of that prior to attempting to glueing them back in place.

I soaked a rag in brake cleaner and then would wipe at it until I reached the end of the gasket. I did it a few times to to make sure that it was totally dry and free of oil.

I can get a picture for you of it shortly.

    My shit is all stock.
Rob @12TRDTacoma found it first. It looked like the perfect fit for me too since I was already running the Tacoma version of this intake. He's in Cali and has a later truck. So, he's got great info on SAI relocating, sneakier wiring, and more. Here's his post on the topic.

Here's the 2nd gen TRD Tacoma intake before the new 4R/FJ tube and 70mm TB

    IMG_1056.jpg

And here's the new 4Runner/FJ tube along with 70mm throttle body. Looks plenty legit.

    IMG_1107.jpg

The new tube and hardware kit as delivered.

    IMG_1026_LI.jpg

Left tube is the Tacoma tube. Right is the FJ/4Runner tube after being shortened for blower duty. It's just a bit fatter all around.

Technically it's 5.5mm i.d. larger than the stock Tacoma air filter at the point where the MAF hole is and a full 10mm i.d. larger at the throttle body end than the Tacoma tube.

    IMG_1044.jpg
    IMG_1069.jpg
New MAF and used connector swiped from a junk Prius harness.

    IMG_1066.jpg

Fits perfectly with 70mm throttle body. Which makes sense. Since that's the TB it was designed for.

Maybe this wiring info will help someone in the future:

Connector info: If you're going to buy the new connector from Toyota, you'll need one connector housing and five wires.

The making of the adapter harness.

I bought an extension harness for $20 from Michigan Motorsports and swiped the male end off of it. Makes for a super clean, easily reversible, plug-n-play install.

The 70mm couplers will still fit the Tacoma throttle body just fine without modification. It just takes a little more sinching on the worm drive clamps to shrink them down to fit.

    Just so everyone knows.

Interestingly, The I.D. at the point where the meter drops in in this new tube is only .125" larger than the Tacoma tube. Perhaps the OE air cleaner is even a bit smaller?

The OE air cleaner? You mean the FJ and the T4R's air cleaner being smaller than the Tacoma air cleaner?

The ID at where the MAF drops in on the FJ/ T4R tube is 3.25".
