Fox COs top plate

Is this installed right?

I cant seem to fit it through the coil bucket to bolt it in.

If it is installed right any tips to get it in

they look upside down to me, but i dont own a pair of these so i may be wrong

 

Flip them around and your good. That top spacer should be flat up top so it can fit in.

ok so I reinstalled it and got everything back together, but the weird thing is Im sitting at 5 inches of lift and spring coming contact with the UCA

Should I take out the factory preload on the shock or is there something im missing completely. This is the correct shock for the truck right?

daaamn those seem like too long maybe!?! Yeah definitely take out some preload from the spring and see if you can get it down. Looks like its sitting at full droop in those pics!

 

i've seen coilovers cranked down a lot more that dont sit like that. did you measure that right after you took it off the jack? if so, it will sit a little high untile it settles, but i dont think it would sit THAT high. your cv's look like there sittin at a bad angle also.

 

you would think, but no I actually drove around trying to get them to settle some. Ill take the preload out tonight, but I just dont know if they are the right coilovers. Ill call the guy I bought them from tomorrow.

 

Mine were cranked more than that and the weren't that high.

 

Were they hard to fit in? I would think that if they are that high they would have been a bitch to put in.

 

Did the shocks come off a long traveled Toyota? They seem extended for a long travel setup.

 

Something is DEFINITELY not right. Those CV angles are fucked.

Start by double-checking the model # and make sure you have the right CO for your vehicle.

the part numbers on the ebay say 980-99-362-A/ 980-99-361-A



I have no idea how to get the top collar loose, its so tight the spanner wrench i ordered is the wrong size and Ive broken 2 drill bits.

EDIT: the truck was on jack stands when I tried to get it loose.

 

Can you measure how much shaft is showing with the shock drooped out? If it measures 8" they are LT coilovers. Also I had fox coilovers once and they had a different top hat than those, but maybe it's different now. Do the springs have any numbers on them? Weird deal for sure.

 

can I measure when they are off the truck cause i just took them off?


oh and I called the guy he assured me that they are the right application straight out of the box, so like this


Im going to meet up with him tomorrow to figure it out, but i dont see how I could fit that in without grinding out the coilbucket a little bit
