Hahaha thanks man! It doesn't need to be 4wd. A 4wd definitely helps with trails and stuff but these tacos are very capable even in 2wd. There are quite a few dudes on here with Prerunners that are super capable rigs. One that comes to mind is @ProForce

    Here is his awesome build

Understandable! Figure out a little hustle on the side for truck money haha.

Your job goes towards your bills and stuff you "have" to pay for and then your side hustle money goes towards truck parts! Yay!

    Very true!

And since I’m a senior in high school it’s part time work, but that means that I have less bills to pay too.

Too many to list. See build page. Link in signature

Thanks! It is true though I'm 2wd open diff no locker and I'm been through some decent stuff. Nothing like a 4wd or locked rig can do but they can do more then youd think. The trick is solid suspension and plenty of clearance and also good tires. You can get extra momentum to get through rather tough spots. Just build slowly but do it right the first time

Yeah I’ve got a leveling kit on it now since it’s a street pig but I want to do a 6” at some point w/ upgraded bumpers

Been looking through this thread a few times now. A high clearance rear is definitely my next project. Awesome bumper and thanks for all the pictures.

Found your thread a few weeks ago and man I got the metal and started this past Friday! I’m ordering the swing out kit Sunday then I’ll start that process when that’s in. I had a few questions if you still have the bumper on for location of the swing out bushing. I’ll toss up a few photos tomorrow in the day light of where I got from a days of work.

Got the sides on and braced under with 2in tube off the angle iron. Shmell what are your measurements that you used for locating the dowel-rod of the swing out bushing from the corner of the 4x4 tube?

    looking great bro!! Happy Easter

I will try to get some measurements for you in a little while. Basically I just put the spindle far enough out and far enough over to the right where the swing out wouldn’t interfere with the tailgate at all when the tailgate was open

Good lord please don’t use that stupid latch hahaha! I ended up hating it. Do yourself a huge favor and buy the DIY latch from 4xinnovations. Best latch on the market in my opinion. It’s a little expensive but way worth it!

Here is a picture of it when I added it to my bumper. It’s on 9th page of this thread

I noticed that after reading further in the thread lol. I’m gonna go with the better one. I still need to look at mine and figure out how to make it work on my bumper. It looks awesome

think you could drill a hole through those 2 plates to put a padlock in it?

Happy Easter man!! And sweet that’s what I was thinking but wanted to make sure, and did you end up welding the mount on the top and bottom plate of the 4x4 post. On the swing out what did you use to stop the arm from swinging around and hitting the side of the bed?
