Loose steering shaft?

Hey there!
Trying to diagnose the issue, when driving on bumpy gravel road I feel that there's some play in the steering wheel (feels fine on normal roads, the truck doesn't wander). Checked the tie rods by lifting and wiggling the wheels, can't feel anything, do these trucks have issues with the steering shaft like the 1st gens ?

 

Yes, these trucks have been know to have issues with the intermediate steering shaft rusting and failing.

That being said, mine is fine but I do have a little play on washboard/ severely rutted dirt and gravel roads
