I’ve had my truck for about three weeks now (200ish miles on the odo) and this morning when I got in to go to work, I noticed a distinct bulge in the area where the driver’s side airbag is housed. I don’t remember this being there yesterday. Nothing happened that would cause this, and with all of the airbag recalls over the past few years I don’t know if I should worry. Is this something any of you have seen?

I thought the same thing when I first saw it too. Funny the little things we notice as time goes by. The rattle from the dash in cold weather had always been there also :)

Most likely its where the dash meets the a pillar trim. Put a little piece of padding between them. Should fix it.

Yeah, I know where it is, its just been freezing cold here still. Hell, we had snow for the past 4 days. I need to pull off those parts this weekend to add some foam to where my front speakers are mounted in the dash.

Wow -- I was literally just going to post about this haha. I swapped out my emblem on my steering wheel and I guess I've been looking closer at my wheel and thought I bent the piece or something when putting the airbag/components back together. I re-looked through this thread (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/custom-steering-wheel-logo.580208/) and noticed everyones looked the same and then felt a little better about it haha.

No, the consensus was that this is normal and to be honest I hadn’t even thought about it or even really noticed it any time recently until this old thread was resurrected. :)

Even the Tundras with the fancy-pants interiors have it.
