yea. The bike rack attachment is bolted down to the 1x3. The 1x3 is welded on. I can remove it whenever I want.

Don't clear coat it, it will rust over time. I've never been able to find a clear coat that will adhere to bare steel and not rust.

What 3D printer and software are you using. I need to get one as I have some ideas I need to bring to life.

I'm the MakerSpace Coordinator in the Library at Texas State University, so I get to use the 8 Ultimaker S5 Pros that we just got.
    https://ultimaker.com/3d-printers/ultimaker-s5-pro-bundle

I will say that if you can afford an Ultimaker, then get one. They are the best FDM printer I have ever used. No issues straight out of the box, no tweaking needed.

I model using Rhino3D mainly, but I'll use fusion360 sometimes.
I use Cura for slicing and printing.

This is why most manufacturers/fabricators aren't supporting 1st gens anymore. We stopped paying to play.

Anyway, there are a few members on here who have them.

Sure there's more details than what I had in that sentence, but it's basic economics. It isn't economically viable for most businesses to continue supporting the 1st gen platform.

These seats were a combination of the best parts from two sets of Sport bucket seats I was able to acquire over the last couple months. They were built from 2001-2004, found as standard seats in all SRunners and came as an option only in the Limited package as well. Mine were one set from each model both from 2001. They have way more cushion than the standard seats, as well as height adjustment and power lumbar for the driver seat, and adjustable head rests too.

I built the first set with good parts and installed on my truck, and just yesterday finished all repairs and gave a good steam cleaning to my second set seen below. The driver side outer bolstering/fabric is not as nice as in my truck, but other than this they are perfect now!20200415_164010.jpg

I found one set on offerup and one on car-parts.com. They are super hard to come by and I would even say likely the most rare and sought after of all Tacoma parts so simply search these sites everyday, multiple times, and soon as a set pops up call and put them on hold immediately!! Haggle the price when you get there and find any imperfections.

I had one passenger seat with bent tracks so the price dropped $100 after I got there. Then I found you can actually swap tracks and the plastic shields from a standard bucket to either the lap and/or back cushions. You can do this on the driver side too, but you would lose the height adjustment and the outer shield is different to allow the knob for height adjustment accordingly.

And sorry, my other set is not available as I am giving these to my Mom for her Tacoma.. I wish you and all the World of Tacoma owners the best of luck on their searches!

Oof! Yeah I definitely can’t afford one of those. Even the S3 is $2,600. Lol. Im looking for more of a entry level model. But that S5 does put out quality stuff.

If you want super duper cheap, look at the monoprice printers: https://www.monoprice.com/pages/3d_printers
They definitely need a lot of tweaking and upgrades, but there is a lot of online support for them. They are clones of other printers.

just checked them out. That’s exactly what I’m looking for. I like their ultimate model with heated nozzle and bed. Would be good for ABS which is what I’m wanting to use. Appreciate the suggestion

Even with a heated bed, you'll need to put it in an enclosure to keep it from warping. ABS is terrible to print with. I've used a cardboard box with a clear plastic window over the whole printer before.

I've never used one personally, but I have heard good things. They'll most likely need tweaking just like the monoprice ones, but their build quality looks better. Any printer that has a tower type frame will lose rigidity when printing and lose acuracy. There are plenty of ways you can fix that yourself though. Those are nice too because they use t-slot extrusions for the frame.

If you are fine with spending a few hours tinkering with it, then I say go for it. If I was going to buy something to keep at home I would go with something like that. I just know more about the monoprice ones since they are prusa clones.
