So I have 265/70/17 tires which are 31.6", should I use the 31-33 file? My stock tires were 265/65/17 (30.6"). Or should I stick to the stock size file since its only a 1" difference?

I would try the 31-33 file first. Since that one is only 0.4 inch off from your actual tire size.

You guys are welcome to scroll through this very thread and see where I talked about fuel imbalances to each bank, and how the fuel to each bank can change pretty wildly during trim correction.
    Talked about it months ago.

And then you can take off your front cats, place widebands down stream of the stock primary 02s and verify true AFRs vs ecu readings and see for yourself how AFR acts during split transition vs direct only or port only.

FYI, the more port you use and the more RPM or load variance, the more intolerant it gets. Why? because port fuel pressure changes depending on RPM and load.
And pressure changes the amount of cc per injection event from the port injectors.

But the ECU uses a static injector ramp value for pressure differences. Not true CC equivalent at various pressures.

I never did get a good answer on this- can anyone explain to a dummy what difference we can expect to see between the tunes for octane? And then what can we expect at high altitude? I'm in CO as well, I've tried both on 1.05, couldn't tell any difference...

So why I dont see more Port activity on this sample? Long idle, freeway drive, idle at the lights, rpms below 2500
How to catch a cleaning cycle, cause I have not seen one yet for 70 miles driven?
    Thanks

try again with the engine colder and you should see more port injection activity.

Also, load stock tune again and check. It will use Direct injection almost exclusively after about 2500 rpm.

Thank you, but not what I meant. I mean, what kind of performance difference can we expect between the tunes. Like, which one is better for hauling, which is better for gas mileage, etc., and does that apply to high altitude or is it different? I'm rather vehicle illiterate. I've driven several thousand miles on both versions with 1.05 and couldn't really tell any difference.

You should get an email with an order number. At least I did.
I got the email replay an hour or two after I ordered. But I ordered on Thursday night. I can imagine he's a little busier today . . .

If you've driven several thousand miles and arent able to tell a difference then go for the 87 Octane as it's much cheaper fuel.
As for towing, you can use the ECT button to raise the shift points to prevent unnecessary upshifts.

are you actually having an issue or are you just looking for something to complain about? this is like misfires all over again..

You should run and log the stock tune until vf is released and then you can make your own tune and it'll run exactly how you want.

Either means both, so that sounds about right.
    Port *alone* is rarely used.

That I can kind of answer. Looking at the dyno charts you can see where 91 will make a little more HP and Torque across the board over 87. It has more octane, and the tune can squeeze that out and take advantage of it where as stock or 87 does not.

87 tune still has all the other improvements, so the difference is not staggering but in my personal experience running each I do get on average slightly better MPG with 91 and the butt dyno says it accelerates faster getting on the highway and just feels like the engine runs smoother. This may be dependent on environment and your particular truck however.

Since gas is so cheap right now I'm just using 91 and happy with it but if it sky rockets I'll likely flash back to 87 if the need arises.

My truck was built in October of 2015 so it's one of the "OG" trucks with 66,000 miles on her (many have much more) and 65,000 of those were bone stock and then on 04b04 after the TSB in 2018. I've never had it run as smooth as it does on 2.0 beta 91 so there's that.

If you see no difference then no harm in sticking to 87 and calling it good.

91 has better performance, would be better for towing and at altitude and milage from what I can tell. But cost difference between 87 and 91 can be great depending on location so it may not be worth it to you, but personally I like it on 91.
